This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Incidents

March 8

10:01 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of West 14th Street in reference to property damage. Upon arrival, the complainant stated a front window of the business was shot four times with a BB gun. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.

10:46 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to Katy Park, 2200 S. Grand Ave., in reference to a person with a gun in the park. Contact was made with the subject who was in possession of a BB gun and did expose the BB gun to the public. The incident was documented, and the BB gun was seized for destruction.

1:38 p.m.: An officer took a phone call from a person in the 400 block of East of Boonville Street in reference to a theft. The victim stated that she fell prey to a scam by someone posed as a Publisher’s Clearing House team member. The victim sent in money to cover registration fees but later realized it was a scam. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.

March 8

9:32 p.m.: Stephanie S. Crain, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated (drugs), and leaving the scene of an accident.
