This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 12

5:27 p.m.: Doyle K. King, 50, of Kansas City, Kansas, was arrested after a vehicle stop near East Broadway Boulevard and Sellers Road. The driver had a suspended license and was cited for driving with a revoked license and no insurance.

March 15

12:04 a.m.: Jesus Ubaldo Quetzecua, 27, of the 1100 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after police responded to a physical domestic disturbance. They learned a male had assaulted a female with a belt and Quetzecua was arrested for third-degree domestic assault, two counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, and two failure to appear warrants from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He was placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges through the prosecutor's office.

March 16

7:24 p.m. Benito Rodriguez Jr., 49, of the 1300 block of South Carr Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle was stopped near East Broadway Boulevard and South Mary Avenue for improper lane usage and following too closely. Rodriguez was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, cited for aggravated driving while intoxicated and released to a sober person.

March 17

2 a.m.: Lawrence Christopher Carter Jr., 29, of the 100 block of West Cooper Street, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a vehicle was stopped near East 16th Street and South Center Avenue. Carter failed to yield and continued to East 16th Street and South Wagner, where he stepped out, refusing to comply with police demands. He was observed to be intoxicated and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, cited for driving while intoxicated and released to a sober driver.

Incidents

March 16

11:54 a.m.: Alissa Ann Malone, 23, of Boonville, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a reported theft. Witnesses said Malone was caught shoplifting items on multiple dates from the business. Malone was terminated as a result, arrested and released with a summons for shoplifting.

1:47 p.m.: Officers took a theft report in the police department lobby from a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue. They took information on a suspect involved in the incident and a report was completed.

2:36 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a stolen vehicle. The business owner reported that sometime overnight, a vehicle was stolen from the lot. The vehicle information was gathered and a report was submitted.

3:13 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of West First Street Terrace for a report of domestic assault and theft of a phone. They spoke with the victim, gathered evidence of their injury and a report was completed.

4:41 p.m.: Officers responded to the Pettis County Jail for a reported sexual assault that occurred in the 1600 block of East Fourth Street on March 12. They spoke with the reporting party and gathered information for a report.

March 17

3:16 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a car-versus-deer crash near West Broadway Boulevard and South Mitchell Avenue. The deer was injured and had to be dispatched by officers.

3:25 a.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of East Jackson Street for a report of theft in progress. The caller reported seeing a subject steal items from her vehicle. Stolen property was recovered in the area and a suspect was identified. Four other victims were also identified during the investigation.

11:09 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the police department lobby for a report of theft from vehicles in the 200 block of Tower Street overnight. They gathered information from the parties involved and completed a report.

2:39 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of East 11th Street for a report of a gun being stolen from the vehicle. They arrived on scene, gathered information from the victim and completed a report. The gun was reported as stolen in the NCIC database.

5:50 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of South Park Avenue regarding a garage being broken into. Personal items were reported stolen.

8:37 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of East Walnut Street regarding a license plate being lost or stolen from a vehicle. They spoke with the vehicle owner and gathered information for a report.

Incidents

March 16

3:45 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of Winchester Avenue in Pettis County for an assault report. Through the victim, it was learned the assault took place at a business parking lot in the 19000 block of Whitfield Road. The victim was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for his injuries and released. The suspect resides in Johnson County and had not been located at the time of the report. The investigation continues.

Arrests

March 15

11:55 a.m. Michael R. Smith, 71, of Mexico, Missouri, was arrested in Saline County for felony driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right-half of the roadway, and no seat belt. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

March 16

9:16 a.m.: Michael Humke, 48, of Lee's Summit, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right-half of the roadway. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

March 17

2:03 p.m.: Houston H. Covington, 64, of Kansas City, Missouri, was arrested in Pettis County for a felony warrant from Cass County, felony driving while intoxicated, and felony driving with a revoked license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

4:54 p.m.: Dawayne D. Cline, 49, of Eldon, was arrested in Pettis County for a felony Camden County warrant and speeding. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail.
