This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 11

3:31 a.m.: Juan Jesus Lozano, 25, of Osceola, was arrested after officers investigating property damage in the 3200 block of East Broadway Boulevard stopped a vehicle believed to be involved. During the traffic stop at South Engineer Avenue and East Ninth Street for failing to signal, Lozana was found to have a suspended driver's status. He was transported to the police department for processing and then released for driving with a suspended license.

4:47 a.m.: Juan Manuel Rangel Ybarra, 24, of Kansas City, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop near East Broadway Boulevard and South Arlington Avenue for excessive speeding and failing to maintain a lane. Ybarra was found to have a suspended license and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released for driving with a suspended license.

Incidents

March 18

1:10 p.m.: A man from the 200 block of West 10th Street entered the police department lobby to report his vehicles were tampered with March 13.

5:07 p.m.: An officer met a victim from the 400 block of East 14th Street in the lobby in reference to a theft. The victim said someone had used their identity to secure a term loan for $1,000 through a crediting company. A suspect had not been identified at the time of the report.

7:33 p.m.: Officers responded to the 300 block of Buckner Court in reference to harassment. The complainant stated a subject had damaged her vehicle. The suspect was identified but no contact has been made. A report was created for documentation.

8:21 p.m.: Officers conducted a traffic stop on an improperly registered vehicle in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. The driver was found to be in possession of an illegal weapon, which was seized for destruction.

March 19

8:12 p.m.: Officers responded to the 700 block of North Lamine Avenue in reference to a disturbance. The complainant stated a subject was visiting and became upset, damaging some of their property before leaving. The subject was identified, but officers were unable to locate them. State charges are being requested.

Arrests

March 16

5:45 p.m.: John Marquess was issued a citation for speeding after an officer on patrol near Highway Y and Botts Road initiated a traffic stop for exceeding the posted speed limit. The rear passenger stated his wife had been taken to the hospital with a possible stroke. The driver was issued a citation for driving with a suspended license and the rear passenger, who had a current valid operator's license, was able to drive the vehicle to the hospital.
