This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 26

10:39 p.m.: Christopher L. Ford, 45, of the 1800 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested after officers stopped a vehicle in the 2400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a traffic violation. The operator was found to have no valid operator’s license and was arrested for driving without a license and booked into the Pettis County jail for processing pending formal charges. The charge will be a felony due to multiple convictions.

March 1

9:33 p.m.: Shawonda C. Dean, 27, of the 700 block of South Street State Fair Boulevard, was issued a municipal court summons after an officer made contact with a caller who stated her neighbors were making unnecessarily loud noises when she was trying to lay down for bed. The caller also stated that the noise is an ongoing issue. The officer made contact with Dean and issued her a summons for peace disturbance. 

March 2

1:49 a.m.: Tyler Steven Blaylock, 19, of the 3700 block of Suburban Lane, was arrested after a car he was riding in was pulled over for an improper turn onto Broadway Boulevard from Park Avenue. After an investigation and search of the car, Blaylock was arrested for felony possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on a 24-hour hold for drug possession, intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

Feb. 25

10:30 a.m.: A victim contacted the Sedalia Police Department by phone and reported the suspect who used to be the victim's roommate had stolen several medications from them with a total value of about $1,545. These medications were a number of fentanyl patches, a Schedule-II drug. The victim would like to press charges.

12:30 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the area of West Seventh Street and South Missouri Avenue regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, a subject told the officer someone who had stayed with them a couple of days ago had stolen $356 in cash.

2:33 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard regarding a disturbance with weapons that had recently taken place. The victim stated they had gotten into a verbal altercation with the subject, which eventually led to the suspect pulling a knife on the victim. The suspect was identified but they were no longer in the area. A warrant request was submitted for fourth-degree assault and violation of a protection order.

March 1

5:13 p.m.: Thomas A. Burrows, 62, of Versailles, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, and careless and imprudent driving.
