This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 29

2:00 p.m.: Lori Lynn Hadley, 50, of the 1600 block of Engineer Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched and she was located with several stolen items and arrested. Hadley was taken to the Pettis County Jail and booked for a 24-hour hold pending charges of stealing.

6:46 p.m.: Elizabeth L. Silverest, 42, of the 1100 block of West 16th Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a disturbance. The caller said a woman known to him had become enraged and started breaking things in the residence. This was confirmed by the suspect, who was then arrested. Silverest was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 24-hour hold pending a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault.

8:58 p.m.: David P. Miller, 40, of the 2900 block of James Road, was arrested after officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A victim was located with multiple non-life-threatening injuries. Miller was arrested for second-degree domestic assault. He had three active warrants out of Pettis and Cooper counties and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of second-degree domestic assault and second-degree property damage.

April 30

1:12 a.m.: Hermenio L. Cacari, 35, of the 1300 block of South Center Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop near South Ohio Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard for not displaying a front registration plate. Cacari was intoxicated and was transported to the police department and then the Pettis County Jail. Charges of driving while intoxicated - persistent offender and driving with a revoked license were submitted to the prosecutor.

Incidents

April 28

12:36 a.m.: An officer responded to the Pettis County Jail, 319 S. Lamine Ave., for a vehicle theft report. The incident occurred in the area of 500 N. Washington St. The officer made contact with an incarcerated subject. Information was gathered and it was determined the vehicle was not stolen.

11:49 a.m.: An officer took a fraud report from a subject in the 700 block of South Osage Avenue who reported unauthorized transactions on his bank account totaling $1,250. A suspect has not been located.

12:05 p.m.: An officer took a report over the phone of a theft that occurred in the 300 block of West 10th Street. The stolen items were valued at $1,000.

4:26 p.m.: An officer assisted the Pettis County Sheriff's Office in an incident that originated in the county and ended at East 24th Street and South Ingram Avenue. One subject was detained and then arrested by the Pettis County Sheriff's Office at the scene.

5:13 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of West 16th Street regarding property damage. A fence was struck at the location while someone was backing out of the parking lot. Information was gathered from both parties and exchanged for an insurance claim.

April 29

10:58 a.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a report of property damage. Overnight, a subject damaged several parts of the business valued at approximately $2,655. The suspect has not been identified at this time.

8:01 p.m.: Officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center to take a harassment report. The reporting party was threatened by the suspect several times and harassment charges are being requested.

April 30

3:50 a.m.: Officers responded with the Sedalia Fire Department and Pettis County Ambulance District to the 1300 block of South Sneed Avenue for an unresponsive male subject. He was located overdosing, so officers began medical treatment until ambulance staff arrived. The man was later transported to Bothwell for further treatment.

8:42 a.m.: Officers responded to the 100 block of South Grand Avenue regarding a commercial alarm. They located a broken window on the west side of the business. The investigation is ongoing.

2:21 p.m.: A bicycle was reportedly stolen from the 2300 block of South Babcock Avenue. The value was $164.

6:17 p.m.: A victim in the 1000 block of South State Fair Boulevard reported a known person stole several items from his residence. Charges are being submitted.

8:02 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue for a harassment report. The reporting party stated a subject was upset about the business’ gun policy and threatened employees if it was not changed. Officers made contact with the subject and trespassed him from the property. A harassment charge is being requested for the threat.

8:31 p.m.: A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 4100 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Several items were stolen from a vehicle as it was parked. There are no suspects.

Arrests

April 29

12:53 a.m.: Amanda Hill, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested after the K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Third Street and Kentucky Avenue in Sedalia. During the traffic stop, a small amount of crystal substance was located inside the vehicle. Hill was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

4:09 a.m.: Jason A. Roelling, of Union, was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. They requested a K-9 to their location, which alerted on the vehicle, and a search revealed two syringes, unknown pills, and approximately 1.3 grams of a crystal substance. Roelling was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges.

May 1

1:57 a.m.: Samantha L. Clawson was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5600 block of South Limit Avenue. K-9 Cav was deployed and alerted to the vehicle. As deputies were trying to place the driver under arrest, she resisted but was taken into custody without incident. Deputies submitted charges of second-degree trafficking of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest.

April 28

11:57 p.m.: Philip B. Roseberry, 29, of Kansas City, was arrested in Saline County for unlawful use and possession of a firearm. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and released.
