This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 18

3:58 p.m.: Amanda Lee Burns, 39, of the 500 block of East 15th Street, was arrested after a victim reported to the Sedalia Police Department that their debit card had been stolen and used at two locations. Officers were able to identify Burns and she was arrested at the business in the 1700 block of West 16th Street. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released pending filing of formal charges. 

May 20

2:15 a.m.: Lucas R. Franklin, 37, of the 900 block of Westwood Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched for a domestic disturbance. The victim stated that a man known to her punched her in the face three times because she would not take him to get food after a night of drinking. Franklin was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold while official charges are sought. 

Incidents

May 19

6:47 p.m.: Officers responded near the 100 block of East Jackson Avenue. The mother of a juvenile wished to report her daughter missing. She last saw her daughter at the residence and her daughter said she was going to leave and left with friends. A missing person report was completed.

7:45 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of West Third Street for a possible burglary. Officers made contact with the victim who stated somebody forced entry and stole money. The victim had no suspect information and wished to pursue charges for second-degree burglary and felony stealing.

Arrests

May 19

11:59 p.m.: Dorel T. Muresan, 33, from Woodland Hills, California, was arrested in Johnson County for felony possession of marijuana, driving while intoxicated, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
