This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Arrests

May 19

8:35 p.m.: William Charles Macron, 53, of the 600 block of South Montgomery Avenue, was arrested after the Sedalia police K9 unit stopped a vehicle at East Saline Street and North New York Avenue for a registration violation. A passenger immediately fled the vehicle and a perimeter was set up by patrol officers. K9 Rocky was deployed to track the suspect, who was found hiding in some brush behind a doghouse approximately 35 yards away from the vehicle. Macron was arrested without incident and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a charge of resisting arrest and three failure to appear warrants out of Pettis County.

9:26 p.m.: Trevor D. Parish, 31, of the 1900 block of South Brown Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a disturbance report. The victim reported being assaulted by three subjects known to him. He also reported that the three subjects flattened his tires and destroyed the windshield of his vehicle. The value of the damage exceeded $750. The victim's minor injury was not treated. Parish was located and arrested for first-degree property damage and third-degree assault. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released on the charges. The same charges are being requested on all subjects.

11:58 p.m.: Ethan Emmett, 25, of Knob Noster, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no license plate lights in the 2700 block of West 16th Street. Officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and a probable cause search showed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Emmett was issued citations for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

May 18

2:40 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Winchester Drive in reference to a private property crash. The driver of a 2007 Ford Fusion stated she parked her vehicle around 2 p.m. for an appointment and returned to find the Ford had damage to the right rear bumper. The case is under investigation. 

7:09 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1700 block of East Fourth Street for a report of trespassing. Officers determined no trespassing occurred, but the victim did want to report destruction of property on his boat. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

11:58 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of South New York Avenue and East 24th Street. During the investigation, the license plates on the suspect vehicle were found to not belong to the vehicle. They were seized to be returned to the Department of Revenue. No charges are being sought.

May 19

3:16 p.m.: An officer responded to the police department lobby for a theft report. A complainant stated a handgun was stolen from his vehicle while parked at his residence in the 900 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The gun, with the value of $600, has not been located at the time of the report and was entered into a database as stolen.

7:52 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2900 block of West 11th Street for a runaway juvenile. When officers arrived, contact was made with the mother of the child and information was collected for a report.

Arrests

May 17

5:32 p.m.: Jason L. Johnson, 28, of Kansas City, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked driver's license. He was transported to the Benton County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold.

May 20

1:40 a.m. Jacob D. Smith, 27, of Warrensburg, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
