This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 9

7:25 p.m.: Nathan Gonzalez, 35, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a disturbance. Officers made contact with the suspect, who was uncooperative and, while being restrained dropped a knife. Victims reported Gonzales threatened to assault their family with a knife. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of second-degree assault, first-degree harassment, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

8:32 p.m.: Michael Bernard, 65, of the 900 block of South Harrison Avenue, was arrested after police received a traffic complaint about a possibly impaired driver. The suspect was located traveling well below the speed limit and failing to maintain the right-half of the roadway. Bernard was intoxicated and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and issued a uniform traffic ticket for driving while intoxicated.

Nov. 10

12:05 a.m.: Jamie Jean Robinson, 43, of the 1600 block of Honda Road, was arrested after a vehicle stop near West 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue for expired plates and suspicion of a suspended driver. Robinson was also intoxicated and was processed at the jail for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, and expired plates.

7:11 p.m.: Cody Austin Harvey, 30, of the 1500 block of West Vermont Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a disturbance. Harvey unlawfully possessed a firearm in the presence of a child while making personal threats. He was placed under arrest, transported to the Pettis County Jail for a 24-hour hold, and charged with unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a concealable weapon, armed criminal action, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Nov. 11

12:34 a.m.: Josephine C. Marek, 20, of the 2500 block of North Woodlawn Drive, was arrested after a traffic stop near South Grand Avenue and West Sixth Street. Marek was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and given a ticket for driving with a suspended license.

8:44 p.m.: Leslie Renee Houston, 39, of Las Vegas, was arrested after a vehicle stop near South Limit Avenue and West 14th Street for improper lane use and failing to stop prior to an intersection stop line. Houston was both revoked and intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for driving while intoxicated - aggravated and driving while revoked.

Nov. 12

1:21 a.m.: Nolan Ryan Smith, 44, of the 1700 block of Grand Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop near the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a passenger-side headlight out in an improper turn. The passenger provided a false name but was ultimately identified and found to have multiple warrants. Smith was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of identity theft and the two failure to appear warrants.

2:40 a.m.: Richard Lee Kohrs, 39, of the 1500 block of South Grand Avenue, was cited after an officer responded to the 700 block of West Third Street for a report of illegal dumping. The caller reported that someone known to her dumped numerous items of automotive and construction scrap at her house. The suspect was later located, arrested and released on summons for this prohibited practice.

2:50 a.m.: Fabian Gonzalez Estrada, 30, of Windsor, was arrested after a traffic stop on South Carr Avenue for an improper turn. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail for felony driving without a license and released.

Incidents

Nov. 7

3:39 p.m.: Officers were dispatched for a burglary report in the 600 block of West Fourth Street. Information was gathered from the victim and a report was completed.

Nov. 8

7:10 p.m.: Officers responded to the 100 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a domestic assault. The reporting party stated he was assaulted by a woman known to him. Charges have been submitted to the State Prosecutor's office.

Nov. 9

9:42 p.m.: Officers received a call for a well-being check in the 400 block of East Jackson Street. They made contact with a subject who advised they had been in a domestic situation. Officers spoke with the subject and gathered information to generate a report and file charges.

Nov. 10

12:56 a.m.: Officers took a report in the police department lobby of people shooting air rifles within the city limits.

9:44 a.m.: Officers responded to the police department lobby for a report of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle by the complainant's boyfriend. Information was taken and a report was completed.

12:20 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of East 15th Street in reference to a theft from a vehicle. The reporting party said the theft occurred over the past two weeks. The officers gathered information and a report was submitted.

6:07 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 3000 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of suspicious activity. The caller reported a subject had been lingering around the business several times in recent days. Information was collected for a report.

Nov. 11

12:34 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of theft of cash from a wallet. Information was gathered from the victim and from the business for the report.

Nov. 12

6:37 p.m.: A business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard reported trespassing. The suspect was identified and formal charges will be sought.

8:07 p.m.: Officers responded to Liberty Park Stadium, 1500 W. Third St., for a report of a burglary. Security reported the building had been broken into and approximately $1,000 in damage to locks, doors, and fencing had been done. A small amount of food and drink items were also stolen.

Arrests

Nov. 13

2:03 a.m. Richard Kohrs was arrested after deputies located a stolen truck near Fourth Street and Lafayette Avenue. The driver fled on foot into a nearby residence. Deputies and Sedalia Police officers located Kohrs and a stolen trailer. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of first-degree tampering, resisting arrest, and felony stealing.

Arrests

Nov. 9

10:05 p.m.: Jenna A. Cowlishaw, 39, of Fort Scott, Kansas, was arrested in Moniteau County for felony DWI - aggravated offender, leaving the scene of a crash, driving while suspended, and no insurance. She was transported to the Moniteau County Jail

Nov. 11

2:05 a.m.: Joshua K. Gutierrez, 32, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and speeding. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
