This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 13

2:59 p.m.: Jennifer L. Carter, 44, of the 1400 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of East 16th Street and South Washington Avenue. She was released with a city summons for driving with a suspended driver's license.

Nov. 14

6:18 p.m.: Heather Melba Miller, 45, of the 1200 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to East 13th Street and South Washington Avenue in reference to a disturbance as a result of a dog running loose. Miller was issued a summons for animal at large and released.

10:07 p.m.: Donald Lee Aldrich, 42, of the 1300 block of South Park Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to 14th Street and South Park for a dog cornering someone walking. Officers were able to locate the dog and the owner and issued a citation for the animal running at large.

Incidents

Nov. 13

2:02 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of South Kentucky Avenue in reference to a property damage report. The victim said someone damaged the fence along the back of his property.

3:54 p.m.: A man walked into the police department lobby to report his debit card was used at a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard without his knowledge.

4:06 p.m.: An officer responded to a business parking lot in the 600 block of East 14th Street in reference to a hit-and-run accident. The victim of the minor accident in the parking lot said the other vehicle fled without providing information. The case remains under investigation.

4:46 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1500 block of Waterloo Drive to speak with the security supervisor regarding threats made by a temp employee in the presence of other employees. A report was completed for documentation.

Nov. 14

5:23 p.m.: Officers responded to the 600 block of Wilkerson Street in reference to a burglary. The reporting party stated someone entered his residence and stole cash. No suspects have been identified.

5:55 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of West Seventh Street for a found property report. The caller stated she had located a gun in the bushes in front of her house. The serial number was run through dispatch and did not report as stolen. The gun was collected and placed into found property.

6:13 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of East Sixth Street regarding a hit-and-run. They gathered information and canvassed the area for camera footage. An investigation was started and a report has been generated.

9:03 p.m.: Officers responded to the 3200 block of Cunningham Drive in reference to a theft. The complainant stated a family member had stolen several items from them before leaving. A suspect has been identified, but no contact has been made at this time.

9:48 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a burglary report in the 1600 block of South Park Avenue. The victim stated someone had broken into his house.

10:18 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 2400 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a commercial burglary alarm. A suspect had forced entry into the business and stole some items before fleeing. The suspect has not been identified.

10:49 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of East Seventh Street in reference to a shooting. Witnesses heard gunshots outside, so officers processed the scene. No injuries were reported. The case is still under investigation.

Arrests

Nov. 14

5:11 p.m.: Donald E. Cunningham, 34, of Smithton, was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving while intoxicated - aggravated offender, possession of a controlled substance - methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no seat belt, failure to register a vehicle, driving while revoked - second offense, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, and no insurance. He was transported to Independence and released.

9:22 p.m.: Albert J. Small, 31, of Kansas City, was arrested in Pettis County for felony driving with a revoked license and felony resisting arrest. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
