This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Nov. 4

4:26 p.m.: A traffic stop was performed at West 10th Street and South Grand Avenue due to the officer knowing the driver did not have a license, which was confirmed. Reggie E. Townsend, 58, of the 400 block of East Jackson Street, was arrested for operating a vehicle without a valid license.

Nov. 5

10:56 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 4200 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft in progress. The complainant stated they had a female concealing items in the business. The female exited the store shortly after and was taken into custody. Her vehicle was also discovered to have been stolen out of Pettis County. Nicole R. Chumpraphai, 43, of the 500 block of West 10th Street, was arrested for stealing from a building, second-degree burglary and first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

7:28 p.m.: A traffic stop was initiated at East Broadway Boulevard and South Marvin Avenue for a vehicle with no plate lights and the driver being recognized for having a revoked license. Jacob E. Masters, 35, of the 1300 block of South Murray Avenue, was arrested for driving with a  revoked license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

9:09 p.m.: An officer performed a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired license plates in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Arlington Avenue. It was discovered the driver had a suspended license. Darreld L. Belle, 62, of the 600 block of North Lamine Avenue, was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

11:42 p.m.: A vehicle was stopped around South Montgomery Avenue and South Broadway Boulevard for failing to signal a lane change and the plate light being out. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired by drugs and in the possession of marijuana. Michael J. Amos, 27, of the 500 block of West Fifth Street, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Incidents

Nov. 5

6:17 p.m.: An officer responded to the 300 block of North Randolph Avenue for a theft. The complainant stated they voluntarily gave a person on Instagram $100 through a cash transfer on their guarantee the individual would deliver $500 to the complainant. It was a scam and the $100 was taken.
