This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 31

8:51 p.m.: Christina S. Crutchfield, 44, of the 900 block of Sue Lane, was arrested after an officer observed a vehicle speeding and failing to maintain a lane of travel eastbound on West 16th Street. The traffic stop on the vehicle at State Fair Boulevard near West 14th Street found the driver was intoxicated. Crutchfeld was transported to the Pettis County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated - drugs.

Nov. 3

6:40 p.m.: Cheyenne Sahara Dawn Smith, 26, of the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop on East 19th Street and found to have a revoked driver’s license. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail, charged with driving with a revoked license and released.

Nov. 4

1:40 p.m.: Brenda K. Reven, 63, of the 1400 block of South Ohio Avenue, was arrested after an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that made an improper turn near South Ohio Avenue and West 14th Street. Reven was intoxicated and was transported to the police department, then the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released with a charge of driving while intoxicated - prior offender.

8:26 p.m.: Joseph Robert Luera Sr., 48, of the 1500 block of East Fifth Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard regarding a theft in the 700 block of East Fifth Street. The victim said Luera entered his room and stole items. Luera was transported to the Pettis County Jail for second-degree burglary and stealing.

11:45 p.m.: Silvaro Arroyo Martinez, 57, of the 700 block of West 23rd Street, was arrested during a traffic stop after being observed hitting a curb near West 20th Street South Warren Avenue. Martinez was intoxicated and was transported to the police department and issued a uniform traffic ticket.

Nov. 5

1:44 a.m.: Vincent Eugene Miller, 39, of the 300 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop near South Ohio Avenue and West Main Street for a lane violation. Miller was intoxicated and was transported to the police department and issued a uniform traffic ticket.

8:25 p.m. Martez Lamont Troy Jr., 38, of the 1100 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested after an officer was dispatched in reference to a stolen vehicle. While speaking to the caller, the vehicle returned and during the course of the investigation, it was determined the vehicle was not stolen, but the driver was intoxicated. Troy was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. A request for charges of driving while intoxicated - chronic offender and felony driving with a revoked license was sent to the prosecutor.

Nov. 6

1:14 a.m.: Jessica Smith, 38, of the 700 block of East Fifth Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched in reference to a physical disturbance. The caller said he'd been struck in the face multiple times by his wife. This was corroborated by two witnesses. Smith was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on 24-hour hold pending a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault.

2:24 a.m.: Randy Lauren Veeder, 57, was arrested after officers conducted an area check of a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard and located a man sleeping in front of the business. Veeder had been trespassed from the business and was issued a city summons for trespassing.

Oct. 30

6:57 p.m.: Officers took a report in the police department lobby in reference to a theft in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The complainant said his phone was stolen while he was at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. There are no suspects.

Nov. 3

7:26 a.m.: An equipment operator at the Material Management Facility, 27822 Highway U, reported items stolen from a storage unit for City equipment and out of another storage unit that contained electronics. The estimated loss was $430.

12:42 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the lobby of the police department in reference to a property damage report. The victim said while at the gas station in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue, someone sprayed his pickup truck.

Nov. 4

10:21 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Hurley Avenue for a theft report. The victim reported his license plate was stolen overnight.

10:46 a.m.: A man reported this bike stolen from the 1200 block of South Carr Avenue. A report was completed.

1:47 p.m.: A man came into the lobby of the police department to report his bicycle was stolen from the 800 block of East Sixth Street.

Nov. 5

12:12 a.m.: Officers attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle southbound on Limit Avenue. Upon officers activating the emergency lights and siren, the driver fled. Officers continued the chase and Pettis County deputies took over. The vehicle pulled over near Knob Noster. It was discovered the car was stolen and the driver had multiple felonies and had drug paraphernalia.

7:30 a.m. A victim in the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue met officers at his residence and reported the theft of his electric bicycle. It had been locked to an outside structure overnight. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been identified.

10:16 a.m.: A woman from the 700 block of East Fifth Street called the police department to report her car was stolen overnight. A report was completed.

3:44 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to South Missouri Avenue and West Seventh Street in reference to a possible disturbance in which someone may have been stabbed. The victim was uncooperative and said he simply cut himself getting out of his vehicle. He had a large laceration to his right arm and was transported from the scene by Pettis County Ambulance District. There were no other witnesses to the injury.

Arrests

Nov. 5

12:01 a.m.: Corey Vogler, 36, of Lee’s Summit, was arrested after deputies observed a white Ford Escape in the 2000 block of South Limit Avenue that was fleeing a Sedalia police officer. The vehicle accelerated from police, who terminated their pursuit while deputies continued to pursue Vogler west into Johnson County. The suspect came to a complete stop on Highway 23 south of Knob Noster. Vogler was placed on a 24-hour hold for felony resisting arrest by fleeing creating substantial risk of death or serious physical injury, driving while revoked/suspended, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was also confirmed stolen out of Kansas City. Charges of tampering with a motor vehicle are being sought.

Nov. 4

10:24 a.m.: A deputy took a report for the theft of a tree stand from a property located in the 14000 block of Green Lawn Road.

Arrests

Nov. 3

3:46 p.m.: Charles R. Mullins, 57, of Syracuse, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while intoxicated - alcohol and speeding. He was transported to the Moniteau County Jail.

9:57 p.m.: Donald W. Johnston, 53, of Hartsburg, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

Nov. 4

11:05 p.m.: Rakan G. Penfield, 28, of Rocky Mount, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, warrants from the Miller County Traffic Department and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was transported to the Johnson County Detention Center.

Nov. 5

12:56 a.m.: Noah D. Craft, 34, of Washington, D.C., was arrested in Saline County for trespassing and resisting arrest. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

2:09 a.m.: Wendy L. Coffey, 54, of Windsor, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain the right half of the roadway, and speeding. She was transported to the Henry County Detention Center and released.

4:23 p.m.: Patterson E. Liwis, 20, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, no valid license, and excessive speed. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
