This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 4

12:10 p.m.: Kendra Sue Chase, 35, of the 300 block of Buckner Court, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a stranded motorist near the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Ohio Avenue. The driver's Missouri driving privileges were found to be suspended and she was issued a city summons.

3:05 p.m.: Meri J. Lim, 38, of the 600 block of West Main Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near West 18th Street and South Grand Avenue for being improperly registered. Lim's Missouri driving privileges were revoked and she was transported to the Pettis County Jail, charged with driving with a suspended license and released. 

6:06 p.m.: Bradley Gene Ford, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue for a reported person trespassing in a business. Ford was confirmed to have been previously trespassed and was arrested for first-degree trespassing and placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail. 

Nov. 5

4:06 a.m.: Christopher Michael Everts, 18, of Hughesville, was arrested after a traffic stop for a license plate being defective. Everts was found not to have an operator's license and was arrested and released from the scene with a summons. 

8:02 p.m.: Nathaniel Shipman, 28, of the 300 block of McAnally Court, was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle with improper registration at East Main Street and South Washington Avenue. It was discovered the driver had a suspended driver's license and he was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and issued a uniform traffic ticket. 

10:08 p.m.: Felix Alaya, 38, of the 1700 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to East 16th Street and South Ohio Avenue to assist with a traffic stop on a vehicle that was stopped for driving on the wrong side of the road. The driver was determined to be intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated. 

Nov. 6

12:17 a.m.: Leocadio Arreguin, 33, of the 1400 block of East 12th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop at West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue. He was determined to be intoxicated and was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and then the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked for driving while intoxicated. 

1:43 a.m.: Kent L. Cline, 55, of Columbia, was arrested after a vehicle was observed running a red light at South Missouri Avenue and West Main Street. A traffic stop found the driver to be intoxicated. A search found a pill bottle containing several individually packaged baggies of crack cocaine located under the driver's seat. Cline was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of distribution of a controlled substance - opium/cocaine, possession of a dangerous drug - opium/cocaine, and driving with a revoked driver's license.

Incidents

Nov. 4

8:34 a.m.: An officer spoke with a victim who wished to report that a license plate had been stolen from outside her residence in the 1100 block of West 16th Street. It was entered as stolen.

10:01 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 2300 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to the theft of a wallet. After reviewing the store's surveillance footage, a suspect was identified and a request for charges was submitted. 

1:13 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of South Arlington Avenue in reference to a lost ID. A general information report was completed to document the incident. 

8:28 p.m.: Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room in reference to an animal bite. An officer made contact with the juvenile victim, who stated she was bit in the face by a pet dog. A report will be completed to document the incident. 

Nov. 5

8:47 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of West 16th Street. A vehicle struck a utility pole, causing heavy damage to both the pole and the vehicle. The vehicle was parked at a home whose residents claimed not to know the owner or driver of the vehicle.

3:06 p.m.: An officer spoke with a caller in the 2300 block of Lewis Circle who wished to report that a speaker was stolen from her in the 1300 block of Walker Circle. 

7:41 p.m.: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 2700 block of West Broadway Boulevard. A consent search was conducted and an illegal controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were located. The items were seized and placed into evidence to be destroyed. The driver was released with a warning. 

Nov. 6

11:59 a.m.: An officer spoke with a caller who reported her vehicle had been stolen from the 1700 block of West Ninth Street on Nov. 4. It was entered into the system as stolen.

3:48 p.m.: A caller in the 300 block of East 25th Street reported the theft of a shotgun. There are no suspects. 

7:38 p.m.: An officer made contact with the subject in reference to a hit-and-run accident that occurred at West 16th Street and South Park Avenue. She said a vehicle hit her and drove off without an attempt to exchange information.

Arrests

Nov. 6

4:22 a.m.: Jose Herrera Aguilar was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop at West Seventh Street for a signal violation. The driver was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released to a sober driver on charges of driving while intoxicated – persistent offender, and driving with a suspended driver's license.

Nov. 5

2:53 p.m.:  Antonio Aguilar Ballesteros, 26, of New Mexico, was arrested in Saline County for felony delivery of a controlled substance - marijuana. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. 

Nov. 6

12:57 a.m.: San J. Mendoza, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked driver's license. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released. 

1:50 p.m.: Justin R. McDaniel, 27, of Columbia, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and released. 

4:24 p.m.: Michael J. Taylor, 27, of California, was arrested in Morgan County for a misdemeanor warrant out of Miller County for failure to appear on an original charge of no seat belt, and driving with no seat belt. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail.

4:24 p.m.: Lewis C. Minor II, 26, of Rocky Mount, was arrested in Morgan County for possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, a misdemeanor warrant out of Miller County for failure to appear with an original charge of failure to register a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to equip a vehicle with an adequate muffler. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. 

8:30 p.m.: Kail A. Sandbothe, 29, of Jefferson City, was arrested in Morgan County for possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance-hallucinogen. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Nov. 11

1:34 a.m.: Sabrina E. Roberts, 24, of Bolivar, was arrested in Benton County for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, a lane violation, and stopping over the stop line. She was transported to the Greene County Jail.
