This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 26

3:47 p.m.: Levi G. Bell, 41, of the 300 block of West Fourth Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a disturbance. Bell was heavily intoxicated and threatening to kill the other party. He was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center to be cleared for a fit of confinement and then transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 12-hour hold for assault.

9:36 p.m.: Virgil Andrew Edgar Sr., 50, of the 400 block of North Grand Avenue, was arrested after police responded to the 400 block of North Grand Avenue in reference to a disturbance. The victim stated his neighbor trespassed onto his property and physically assaulted him before leaving. Edgar was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for fourth-degree assault and second-degree trespass.

Incidents

Oct. 25

743 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard to investigate a theft. Video surveillance showed a suspect removing a 10x12 silver tarp from the business valued at $10. The suspect remains unidentified.

7:56 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of West Ninth Street in reference to property damage. The reporting party arrived at their place of business to find a sign ripped off the wall and miscellaneous property scattered on the porch.

4:08 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of South Osage Avenue in reference to an arson report. Since Friday, Oct. 20, three different fires had been set around a duplex.

Oct. 26

6:30 p.m.: Officers took a report regarding a damaged vehicle in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. They gathered information to generate a report

7:21 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a parking lot in the 2400 block of South Limit Avenue for a theft report. The victim said someone had broken her window and stolen her car. She estimated damage at $600 to the car. No arrests were made.

Oct. 26

1:15 p.m.: Frank C. Jenkins, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County for felony promoting child pornography, three counts of felony possession of child pornography, and tampering with physical evidence. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
