This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Oct. 6
1:27 p.m.: Officers took a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was later located in reference to another incident. The juvenile was returned to his parent, and a juvenile referral was completed.
2:23 p.m.: Officers responded to Vermont Park, 1200 S. Vermont Ave., for a report of vandalism. The complainant stated that juveniles had damaged property in the restroom of the park. All three juveniles were contacted and the parents of each of the juveniles were contacted as well. Referrals were sent to the Pettis County Juvenile office.
2:25 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run accident in the 600 block of West Pettis Street. A vehicle struck the back of a 2014 Chevy Cruze parked in the owner's driveway then left the scene. The owner stated his vehicle had damage to the rear passenger’s side bumper.
4:26 p.m.: Officers responded to the 100 block of South Park Avenue in reference to a stolen motor vehicle. The caller reported a vehicle belonging to him ended up missing after he lent it to someone. The person he left the vehicle to believed it had been stolen. The value of the vehicle is estimated at approximately $700.
4:42 p.m.: Officers took an informational report of a vehicle taken from the 500 block of North Prospect Avenue by a subject known to the owner. It was found damaged and abandoned in rural Pettis County. The vehicle owner requested the incident be documented with no criminal investigation at this time.
7:27 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of South Barrett Avenue in reference to an animal complaint. The reporting party stated that while he was walking on South Barrett Avenue, black labs approached him aggressively with one of them biting his pants. He did not report any injuries.
Oct. 8
2:05 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the police department lobby for a missing person report. The reporting person stated her 13-year-old son went to school on Oct. 7 and she has not seen him since. Foul play is not suspected.
3:49 a.m.: Officers responded to the 1300 block of East 24th Street for a report of a vehicle theft. The caller reported that her 2003 Ford Taurus was stolen from the business while she was working. The vehicle was recovered moments later and returned to the victim.
3:49 a.m.: Officers responded to the area of East Fourth Street and South Grand Avenue for a found firearm. Officers collected the firearm and took it to the police department where it was placed into evidence as found property.

Arrests
Oct. 6
11:20 p.m.: Jackie R. Jensen, of Otterville, was arrested for felony driving while revoked and two Pettis County warrants after a traffic stop in the area of Overstreet Road and Spur 50 in Smithton. Jensen's vehicle failed to display proper Missouri license plates and she was stopped, arrested, and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

7:24 p.m.: Jackson M. Agey, 26, of Des Moines, Iowa, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated - prior offender. He was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall and released.
11:08 p.m.: Samson Deloach, 21, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated - prior offender, speeding, and failure to place vehicle not in motion as far right as possible. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
