This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 14

3:59 p.m.: Joseph Thurman, 42, of the 1700 block of East Fifth Street, was arrested after officers responded to Missouri Pressed Metals in regard to the theft of some coolant. Thurman was located near 16th Street and Thompson Avenue, confessed to the theft, and was issued a summons.

Sept. 15

2:21 a.m.: Brian Lee Wilson, 29, of the 1300 block of East Boonville Road, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of East Boonville Street in reference to a subject lying in the street. The officer observed the individual passed-out in the road and attempted to wake them. Wilson was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit of confinement and then the Pettis County Jail for safekeeping.

9:15 p.m.: Brian Daniel Vance, 19, of the 100 block of East 13th Street, was arrested after officers took a report in reference to an assault. The victim stated the suspect punched him in the face and left the scene. The victim sustained injuries and was later treated at Bothwell Regional Health Center. Officers were able to identify and make contact with the suspect who was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of third-degree assault. 

9:32 p.m.: Jason Jean Spencer, 37, of the 300 block of McAnally Court was arrested after another incident involving the violation of an ex parte order. Officers made contact with both parties and one was the protected party. The respondent in the order was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges. 

Incidents

Sept. 10

6:53 p.m.: An officer took a call in reference to a theft. The caller said his cell phone had been stolen. No arrests have been made. 

Sept. 14

10:39 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 900 block of West 20th Street in reference to a possible theft. A resident stated she had been evicted the day prior and her property was thrown away by the city. A report was completed to document the incident.

2:39 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. Several subjects claimed other subjects through liquids on each other during an argument.

Sept. 15

7:17 a.m.: Detectives executed a search warrant in the 300 block of Buckner Court. Drug paraphernalia was seized from the residence. No arrests were made. 

1:32 p.m.: An officer met with a victim in the police department lobby. They reported they had sent two money orders to an unknown suspect earlier in the year. There is no suspect information. 

2:05 p.m.: An officer spoke with a victim in the 1400 block of South Warren Avenue who wished to report that items had been taken from their vehicle. There are no suspects.
