This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests
Sept. 4
1:52 a.m.: Destyni Justyine Speidel-Florence, 22, of Lincoln, was arrested near the intersection of West 14th Street and South Limit Avenue for driving while intoxicated and speeding. An SUV was stopped for moving violations and the plates coming back to a different vehicle. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated.
3:20 p.m.: Monica R. Garcia, 42, of the 600 block of West Cooper Street, was arrested near the intersection of North Missouri Avenue and West Johnson Street for operator’s license required. Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with no license plate lights. Dispatch advised that the driver did not have a valid license.
Incidents
Sept. 3
Officers were dispatched to Centennial Park for an assault that had just occurred. Contact was made with the 13-year-old victim and her friend. The children were taken home and later, the victim was taken to the ER to be evaluated. She was later released. Shortly after the incident, a video began to circulate on social media and a suspect was identified. On Sept. 4, the 17-year-old suspect came to the SPD to turn himself in. Paperwork was submitted to the Pettis County Juvenile Office and a charge of second-degree assault has been requested.
Sept. 5
6 p.m.: Officers responded to Hubbard Park in reference to an assault that had just occurred. The officers determined several juveniles were involved in an altercation on the playground.
8:32 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue for a theft report. It was determined that someone cut the cable lock off the victim’s bike and the pole it was attached to and took the bike. There were no suspects at the time of the report.
Sept. 6
1:37 a.m.: Officers responded to the area of East Fourth Street and South Washington Avenue for a domestic disturbance. After an investigation, officers determined two subjects had gotten into a physical altercation. Charges are being sought.
8:03 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Barrett Avenue for a missing person incident involving a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was identified and their location was not known at the time of the report.
10:26 p.m.: Officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center in reference to a sex crime. Officers spoke to the victim and a report was taken.
Sept. 7
2:51 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a theft report. The complainant stated a vehicle had been stolen from McAnally Court that belonged to the business she worked for. She was able to provide enough information that the vehicle was located in the 300 block of North Engineer Avenue but there were no keys. No suspects had been named at the time of the report.

Sept. 6
10:20 a.m.: James D. Mosley, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of a firearm.
9:46 p.m.: Willie A. Taylor, 37, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving while intoxicated-aggravated and possession of marijuana.
