The Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The 2024 festival began Wednesday, May 29, and runs through Saturday, June 1, in downtown Sedalia. On Wednesday, May 29, the 2024 Scott Joplin International Ragtime Festival kicked off its 50th anniversary with a promenade or vintage parade down South Ohio Avenue to Second Street. The parade stopped at the Sedalia Pavilion, where there was a vintage car show and fashion contest. During the night, festival performers entertained the crowd from the stage.
