On Monday afternoon, Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler, R-MO, Field Representative Ryan Bardot and Mayor Andrew Dawson went on a tour of the Heckart Community Center led by Parks and Recreation Director Amy Epple. Hartzler spoke with Epple about when the HCC broke ground, when it opened and how things have been going since the grand opening March 18.

A short documentary, "The Final Day of Wheel Inn Drive In," created by Jefferson Lujin, of Kansas City, will air at 6 p.m. July 18-24 at The Parlor, 701 S. Osage Ave. Lujin is also the director of the documentary "The Ozark Music Festival: 3 Days of Sodom & Gomorrah in Sedalia, Missouri," which will air at 7 p.m. each night.

Sedalia native Colter Jackson visited the Sedalia Public Library Friday morning to read her new book “The Rhino Suit”. Jackson wrote and illustrated the entire book herself. Jackson lived in a house right behind the library till she was six or seven years old, during those days she would take a wagon to the library and fill it full of books.
