Teenager crashes in Johnson County

A teenager was hurt in a single-vehicle crash at 11:29 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.

Lucas D. Smith, 16, of Warrensburg, was driving north on state Route 13 just south of Southeast 300th Road when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. His vehicle struck a fence and shrubs.

Smith, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. He went in a private vehicle to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Man ejected in Pettis crash

A man was hurt after ejecting from a motorcycle in Pettis County at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Michael P. Mullins, 57, of Houstonia, was southbound on a gravel road along state Route OO when he lost control in a curve, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Mullins was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered moderate injuries. An ambulance took him to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Two killed in Johnson collision

Two men from St. Louis were killed in a two-vehicle collision Sunday in Johnson County.

At 3:58 a.m., Kent Reynolds, 24, was driving south with a passenger, Randy K. Diltz, 19, on the state Route 13 bypass just north of the Route 13 South roundabout, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. Reynolds crossed the center line of the road and struck Walter E. McGirl, 82, of Warrensburg, head on.

Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren pronounced Diltz dead at the scene. Reynolds was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City where he later died. Neither Diltz nor Reynolds was wearing a seat belt during the accident.

McGirl was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. He received treatment at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
