Two hurt in Johnson crash

Two women were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 3:20 p.m. Saturday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Shaun M. Stice, 35, of Marshall, was driving west on U.S. Route 50 at Northwest 1051 Road when his vehicle overtook and struck the rear of a westbound vehicle driven by Luke A. Hamlin, 25, of Centerview.

After the crash, Stice fled the scene on foot.

Two passengers in Stice’s vehicle were injured. Kelsea L. Anderson, 20, of Leeton, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries. Latesha Hammond, 18, of Calhoun, was taken by JCAD to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with moderate injuries.

Reports indicate Hamlin and Anderson were wearing a seat belt, but it is unknown if Stice and Hammond were wearing one.

Three injured in Moniteau wreck

Three California, Missouri, residents suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 12:05 p.m. Monday in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, William M. Hof, 80, of Florissant, was stopped while westbound on state Route C at state Route 87. Darin R. Blank, 35, was driving north on state Route 87 when Hof entered the intersection and struck Blank’s vehicle. Blank’s vehicle overturned.

Two passengers in Blank’s vehicle were injured. Rowan E. Blank, 4, and Erin L. Fielding, 30, were both taken by ambulance to SSM St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City. Blank refused treatment at the scene.

Reports indicate all involved were using a safety device at the time of the accident.
