Woman’s vehicle goes airborne

A woman was hurt in an airborne accident at 2:10 p.m. Thursday in Johnson County.

Leota M. Davolt, 64, of Marceline, was driving east on state Route 2 when she traveled off the roadway a quarter mile east of Southwest 271st Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Her vehicle struck a driveway and launched into the air. It traveled into a ditch before coming to a rest.

Davolt was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. The Johnson County Ambulance District took her to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.

Motorcyclist hurt while avoiding animal

A motorcyclist was ejected while avoiding an animal on state Route 52 in Henry County.

Dylan L. Decker, 26, of Butler, was westbound on the highway at 4:20 a.m. Friday when he encountered the animal, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

He attempted to slow down, but his motorcycle skidded. Decker was ejected from the motorcycle before the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and stopped in a ditch.

Decker was wearing a helmet and had minor injuries. An ambulance from Henry County EMS took him to Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler.
