This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 12

11:07 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of South Limit Avenue for a subject check. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with three individuals and identified them all through dispatch. One had a warrant out of Crawford County and during the arrest marijuana was found on him. James C. Williams Jr., 23, of Knob Noster, was arrested on a warrant and a charge of possession of marijuana. 

7:06 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a burglary on the 700 block of South Ohio Avenue. Upon arrival, the subject was located in an upstairs apartment. Isaiah G. Cochran, 19, of the 600 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested on a charge of second-degree burglary. 

10:23 p.m.: Officers made contact with a subject walking on the highway in the 2900 block of West Broadway Boulevard who appeared to be under the influence. During a search, methamphetamine and syringes were discovered. Jeffrey L. Waters, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of possession of synthetic narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

April 13 

5:42 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 700 block of West 16th Street for an individual sleeping in a car. Officers attempted to wake the driver and asked them to step from the vehicle. The driver consented to a search which led to the discovery of marijuana and a pipe. Cole Baker, 24, of Cole Camp, was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

9:21 a.m.: An officer made contact with a suspicious vehicle parked at a business in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. During the investigation, it was found that an individual in the car was in possession of methamphetamine. They were also a felon and a shotgun was located on their property. Daniel Schliessman III, 49, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of an illegal weapon, and unlawful possession of a concealable weapon. 

April 14

1:49 p.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to an assault. Two victims said they had been assaulted by the same subject, who they both knew from previous interactions. Both had minor injuries. The suspect came to the Pettis County Jail and admitted to the assault. Alex C. Esser, 19, of the 800 block of Sixth Street, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor fourth-degree assault and peace disturbance.

Arrest

April 13

2:35 a.m.: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for no rear plates in the 1400 block of South Kentucky Avenue. Deputies requested the assistance of the K-9 unit, which alerted on the vehicle. A search revealed large amounts of methamphetamine and a stolen firearm. Deputies arrested Darrell L. Crain, of Sedalia, on charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Arrests

April 11

2:51 p.m.: Brian, D. Hunt, 55, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failing to drive on the right half of the roadway. 

April 12

11:29 p.m.: James Harris, 58, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated. 

April 13

1:17 a.m.: Alejandro Resendiz Hernandez, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated, no valid driver’s license, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. 

6:23 p.m.: Levi A. Capek, 19, of Camdenton, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving resulting in a crash.
