This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department 

Arrests

April 18

4:07 a.m.: A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Garfield Avenue for a licensing issue. Investigation revealed Ruben L. Gonzales, 46, of the 1400 block of Prospect Avenue, was driving with a suspended license and was in possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Gonzales was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license. 

8:38 p.m.: An officer responded to the 400 block of East Chestnut Street in reference to an intoxicated subject lying on the street. While driving to the area, the officer observed a vehicle matching the one the subject had been reportedly driving leaving the area. The vehicle swerved and nearly struck the officer’s vehicle. After a short pursuit, Thomas A. Martinez, 36, of the 400 block of East Chestnut Street, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated (drugs), second-degree assault on a law officer, and resisting arrest. 

April 19 

11:49 p.m.: A traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Lamine Avenue. An investigation revealed Ashley M. Allen, 31, of the 4100 block of Eisle Drive, was in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Allen was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.  

9:27 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to a business in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a disturbance. One of the subjects was banging on the windows and pulling on the door handle of another’s vehicle. During the disturbance, a door handle was pulled off. Anthony L. Melton, 30, of the 1300 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested for destruction of non-city property. 

April 20 

6:33 a.m.: Officers responded to the 800 block of West 14th Street in reference to a fight in progress. The caller said her husband had entered the residence and assaulted another male. After an investigation, Frank J. Wilson, 56, of the 800 block of West 14th Street, was arrested for misdemeanor fourth-degree assault. 

1:51 p.m.: An officer observed a vehicle speeding on East Broadway Boulevard near Sellers Road and conducted a traffic stop. The investigation revealed the driver had a suspended driver's license and two active warrants out of Henry County. Kimberly K. Rohr, 36, of Smithton, was arrested on charges of misdemeanor failure to appear, driving with a suspended license, and speeding. 

1:56 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to Liberty Park in regards to a disturbance. An investigation revealed the incident began over child custody issues and a female, who was with the father of the child, assaulted the mother of the child. Makayla E. Wallace, 21, of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested for assault. 

2:03 p.m.: Officers responded to the 2200 block of East Broadway Boulevard for reported domestic violence. Officers observed a female possessing a weapon in a threatening manner. Amber F. Gregg, 31, of the 2200 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested for fourth-degree domestic assault. The male, Dakota A. Gregg, 32, of the same address, was arrested for fourth-degree domestic assault after an investigation revealed Amber had sustained minor injuries to her arms during a physical altercation with Dakota. 

7:00 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a theft totaling $120.97. Carlese L. Overton, 21, of the 600 block of North Osage Avenue, was arrested for shoplifting. 

11:29 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a report of an individual who had taken beer without paying. The officer was able to locate the subject and David A. Marcias, 32, of the 2300 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested for shoplifting. 

April 21 

3:01 a.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West Saline Street and Welch Court. The driver refused to provide a breath sample so a search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s blood for testing purposes. Jennifer A. Bybee, 35, of Otterville, was arrested on charges of driving while suspended and driving while intoxicated (alcohol). 

6:44 p.m.: Officers responded to the area of West Third Street and South Quincy Avenue for a report of a disturbance. An investigation indicated an intoxicated subject had attempted to fight multiple people, punched a woman, and engaged in a fight in the street. Travis E. Ballew, 39, of the 1200 block of West 11th Street, was arrested for public peace disturbance.

Arrests

April 16

1:33 a.m.: Deputies made contact with subjects inside a car at a business in the 2000 block of East Broadway Boulevard who advised they were getting gas and fixing a remote control. The vehicle was parked the wrong way to get fuel. Lydia Antwiler, of Sedalia, had an outstanding warrant out of Moniteau County and was arrested. Bruce Gullett was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 20

5:13 p.m.: Aviana C. West, 19, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. 

5:13 p.m.: Megan W. Cartmel, 17, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. 

April 21

1:00 a.m.: Derrick Robinson, 41, of Tipton, was arrested in Moniteau County for driving while revoked. 

12:55 p.m.: Seth A. Spinks, 20, of Belton, was arrested in Henry County on charges of receiving stolen property, possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and failure to display license plates. 

4:02 p.m.: Trevor M. Julian, 28, of Clinton, was arrested in Johnson County for a felony warrant out of Henry County and charges of failing to drive on the right half of the roadway, felony resisting arrest by fleeing, and felony leaving the scene of a crash. 

April 22

12:01 a.m.: Enrique Garcia, of Olean, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of no valid license and driving while intoxicated.
