This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 20

6:04 p.m.: Officers responded to the 600 block of South Missouri Avenue to investigate a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival officers made contact with a witness who said they had seen a female suspect striking the victim’s car with a rain gutter while the victim was in the car. Officers located the victim, who did not wish to cooperate. Officers located the suspect, Takaia H. Smith, 17, of the 1000 block of South Ohio Avenue, and arrested her for fourth-degree domestic assault.

Arrests

March 20

12:44 p.m.: The Smith-Cotton High School school resource officer received a call from the school security officer regarding an individual who was trespassing on the west side of the school’s property. The officers made contact with the individual in a business parking lot on state Route B near the school. A search revealed the subject was in possession of illegal drugs. He was placed under arrest for the possession of a controlled substance and was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. While on school property the suspect did not attempt to enter the school and did not have any contact with students or staff.

Arrests

March 20

2:24 p.m.: Lois Y. Bowers, 59, of Sedalia, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), felony possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone hydrochloride), and no seat belt. 

4:42 p.m.: Tiffany B. Kidd, 30, of Jefferson City, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving with a revoked license, no seat belt, and a misdemeanor warrant out of Jefferson City. 

March 21

12:29 a.m.: Kendall D. Weymuth, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident. 

4 a.m.: David S. Nowicki, 55, of Sedalia, was arrested in Saline County on the charge of driving while intoxicated.
