This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Nov. 12

1:25 p.m.: Cody L. Martin, 22, of Clinton, was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license, not having proof of insurance and license plates required. Officers were dispatched to a traffic accident at South Emmet Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard. While investigating the accident, they became aware a passenger in one of the vehicles had two failure to appear warrants from Henry County. They also arrested the driver of the same vehicle, Martin, on multiple traffic violations. He was released from the Pettis County Jail with citations.

Nov. 13

9:35 p.m.: Ashley Ann Stoney, 33, of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested on a charge of stealing. An officer was dispatched to a store in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a theft report. An employee said Stoney attempted to leave the store with items that she hadn’t paid for.

Nov. 14

2:20 p.m.: Joseph Wayne Booyer, 30, of the 400 block of West 10th Street, received a municipal court summons for a charge of assault. An officer was dispatched to the police station parking lot for a report of an assault. He met with both parties and learned the assault occurred because of road rage.

Nov. 12

4:30 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East Seventh Street to assist at a house fire. After extinguishing the fire, personnel from the Sedalia Fire Department discovered evidence that led them to believe the fire wasn’t accidental. As a result, the fire department called the State Fire Marshal to investigate.

Nov. 13

5:40 a.m.: Officers attempted a traffic stop on a white Toyota Tundra TRD that was believed to be stolen. The driver fled, and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle traveled on several streets on the east side of Sedalia while attempting to evade officers. The suspect eluded capture and was last seen in the area of South Marshall Avenue and East 16th Street. The incident is still under investigation.
