Holden teen killed in Johnson accident

Kaden A. Adams, 18, of Kingsville, was killed at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday in a Johnson County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Adams was driving a 2001 Ford East on state Route T at SW 300 Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the driver’s side of a 2001 GMC driven by Maze M. Shields, 31, of Holden, who was headed south. 

Shields was wearing a seat belt, Adams was not. He was taken by air ambulance to Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and pronounced dead by George Abraham. 

La Monte woman hurt in Johnson accident

Dara L. Blakely, 28, of La Monte, sustained minor injuries at 8:13 a.m. Wednesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, a 1990 Ford F-250 driven by Lester M. Flory, 78, of Chilhowee, was northbound on Missouri State Highway 13 at state Route JJ when he struck a 2016 Ford Fusion heading south being driven by Blakley. The truck hit the Ford Fusion after avoiding another vehicle that was attempting a left turn.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Blakely was transported by private vehicle to Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton. 

Holden man hurt in a Johnson accident

Shannon P. Correll, 39, of Holden, sustained minor injuries at 3:56 p.m. Wednesday in a Johnson County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Correll was driving a 2015 Ford Escape West on US Highway 50 when she tried to cut in on a 2002 Kenworth and turn onto Northwest 1511 Road. The Kenworth struck the rear of the Escape. 

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Correll was transported by Johnson County ambulance District to Western Missouri medical center in Warrensburg.
