Morgan County crash puts Sedalia man in jail

John E. Washausen, 31, of Sedalia, received a minor injury at 3 a.m. Tuesday in a Morgan County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Washausen was driving a 2002 Ford Windstar north on state Route 5 north of Valley Road his vehicle when crossed the centerline of the roadway and traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a utility pole. 

Washausen was transported to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach by Mid-Missouri Ambulance District. 

Later he was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance (8 grams of methamphetamine), no seat belt, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a crash, operating a vehicle on a highway without a valid license, a Sedalia Police Department warrant-failure to appear traffic offense, a Pettis County warrant for non-moving traffic violation-failure to register a motor vehicle/operate a vehicle without a valid license. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
