Two women hurt in Johnson accident

Maria Martinez, 51, of La Monte, and Faith E. Fassler, 20, of Knob Noster, both received minor injuries at 9:12 p.m. Saturday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Martinez was driving south on state Route FF and failed to stop at a stop sign before entering U.S. Highway 50. She was struck by a westbound Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Fassler.

Both drivers were wearing a seat belt. Fassler was treated on scene and Martinez was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Smithton woman injured in Johnson accident

Annamarie K. Ray, 21, of Smithton, received moderate injuries at 3:04 a.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ray was driving east on state Route 2 near Southwest 751 Road in a 1993 Jeep when she traveled off the right side of the roadway and her vehicle overturned, coming to rest in a cornfield.

Ray was not wearing her seat belt and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Three from Sedalia hurt in Pettis County accident

Carl N. McCallum, 53, a 16-year-old male and a 1-year-old male, all of Sedalia, all received minor injuries at 4:48 p.m. Saturday in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Tiffany N. Moore, 30, of Sedalia, was driving north on Route M in a 2003 Acura TRX when she attempted to avoid striking an object in the road, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the road and begin to skid in the wet grass. The vehicle struck a bridge and continued skidding north, striking a tree and coming to rest. 

All occupants of the vehicle were using a safety device. The three injured males were transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center.

14-year-old injured in Saline accident

A 14-year-old male from Kansas City, Kansas, received moderate injuries at 3:20 a.m. Sunday in a Saline County accident. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Robert Lehin, 34, of Kansas City, Kansas, was traveling west on I-70 in a 2016 Ford Explorer when he swerved to avoid a parked vehicle in the left lane and traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck the cable barrier, and overturned. The vehicle came to rest in the right lane of eastbound I-70 on its top.

Both passengers were wearing a seat belt. The 14-year-old male was transported by Sweet Springs Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.
