Man hurt in Henry crash

A Urich man was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 11 a.m. Friday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Steven D. Catron, 58, was driving south on state Route 7 at state Route DD when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered roadway. His vehicle entered the path of a northbound vehicle driven by Donald W. Post, 60, of Wheatland.

Catron was taken by Golden Valley Ambulance to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton with minor injuries.

Reports indicate both drivers were wearing a seat belt.

Mississippi man seriously injured

A Picayune, Mississippi, man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 12:25 p.m. Friday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Michael J. Montgomery, 68, was driving south on state Route 7, 308 feet north of Bridge A3700, when he fell asleep. His vehicle traveled off the road, hit a bridge railing and overturned.

Montgomery, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries.

Woman hurt in accident

A Clinton woman suffered moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 8:18 a.m. Saturday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Cathy L. Green, 65, was driving south on state Route 13, 675 feet before Southwest 575th Road, when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a MoDOT sign. The vehicle struck a utility pole before returning to the road.

Green, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for her injuries.

Clinton woman hurt in crash

A Clinton woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 8:02 a.m. Sunday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Janet L. Justis, 49, was driving north on state Route 13, 40 feet before Southeast 101st Road, when her vehicle slid on ice and traveled over a curb. It then struck a sign before coming to a rest.

Justis, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

Sweet Springs woman killed

A Sweet Springs woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 12:23 p.m. Sunday in Saline County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Erica E. Jones, 36, of Sweet Springs, was driving north on state Route 127, a half mile north of 245th Road, when her vehicle began sliding on the slush-covered road. It traveled off the left side of the road and struck a sign post. The vehicle then became airborne and overturned, striking two embankments. It came to rest on its roof.

A passenger in Jones’ vehicle, Sherri L. Jones, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene by Saline County Coroner William Harlow. Erica Jones was taken by Sweet Springs Ambulance District to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall with moderate injuries.

Reports indicate neither occupant was weairng a seat belt.

Man arrested for DWI

A Norborne man was arrested after a single-vehicle accident at 10:10 p.m. Sunday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Brandan C. Bellamy, 33, was driving north through a roundabout at state routes 13 and DD when he failed to negotiate the turn. His vehicle struck a curb and a sign.

Bellamy, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg with minor injuries.

According to a MSHP arrest report, Bellamy was arrested on charges of felony driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.

Man injured in Moniteau crash

A Jefferson City man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 9:40 a.m. Saturday in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Christopher J. Velazquez-Barajas, 18, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50, west of state Route K, when his vehicle began to skid. It traveled off the right side of the road and struck a highway sign. The vehicle then struck an embankment, coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Velazquez-Barajas was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City with moderate injuries.

It is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.
