Two from Holden injured in Johnson County crash

Bryan S. Phillips, 41, of Holden, sustained serious injuries, and Tyler M. Jennings, 36, of Holden, sustained minor injuries at 5:44 a.m. Monday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Phillips was driving a 1998 Mazda B series west on U.S. Highway 50 when he slid into the median due to an ice-covered roadway and the vehicle overturned.

Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. Jennings was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. Phillips was transported by JCAD to Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

Marshall teen injured in Saline County mishap

A 17-year-old male from Marshall suffered moderate injuries at 3 p.m. Sunday in a Saline County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred as the juvenile was driving a 2000 Chevrolet S10 east on Mount Olive Road and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck the ditch and overturned.

He was not wearing a seat belt and was transported by Saline County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia.
