Eldon man injured in Benton accident

Daniel R. Stechmann, 61, of Eldon, received moderate injuries at 3 p.m. Thursday in a Benton County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Stechmann was driving West on Shamrock Road east of Highline Drive in a 2006 Ford F150 when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the left side of the road and strike a road sign. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle returned to the road, traveled on to Highline Drive and then off the right side of the road where it struck a house.

It is unknown if the driver was wearing a seat belt. He was transported to University Hospital in Columbia.

Windsor teens hurt Henry accident

Edwin J. Lutjen, 18, and a juvenile male, 17, both of Windsor, received minor injuries at 12:40 p.m. Thursday in a Henry County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the 17-year-old was driving east on Route 2 west of Route 23 in a 2000 Ford truck when he applied brakes and began to skid out of control, crossing the center-line, traveling off the left side of the road, and striking an embankment. The vehicle overturned onto its top. 

The driver and passenger were both wearing a seat belt and were transported by private vehicle to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton.

14-year-old seriously injured in Moniteau ATV accident

A 14-year-old male from Granbury, Texas, received serious injuries at 8:43 p.m. Thursday in a Moniteau County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, he was driving north on Lone Oak Road on a 2006 Yamaha Bruin ATV when he traveled off the left side of the roadway into a ditch and overturned. 

He was not wearing a helmet. He was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
