Holden teen hurt in Johnson County rollover

A 17-year-old male from Holden suffered minor injuries at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, the teen was driving a 2010 Chrysler south on state Route 58 when he traveled partially off the right side of the roadway and attempted to steer back onto the roadway. He overcorrected, traveled across and off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

The teen was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by Johnson County Ambulance District.

Jefferson City man seriously injured in Moniteau collision

Michael A. Collins, 39, of Jefferson City, sustained serious injuries and Matthew C. Lietzke, 19, of California, sustained minor injuries at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday in a Moniteau County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Collins was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier west at Business 50 and U.S. Highway 50 and struck Leitzke’s northbound 2005 Dodge 1500 that had failed to yield. The vehicles then traveled off the right side of the roadway.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Lietzke was checked by the Mid-MO Ambulance District at the scene, and Collins was transported to St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City by Mid-Mo Ambulance.

Two injured in Pettis County rollover

Benjamin Adams, 39, of Sedalia, and Ella Benkazarova, 40, sustained moderate injuries at 6:20 p.m. Monday in a Pettis County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Benkazarova was driving a 2023 Toyota Tacoma north on state Route U, just south of Smasal Road, when she traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned.

Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt. Adams was transported by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center, and Benkazarova was transported by patrol vehicle to Bothwell.
