10-year-old hurt in Johnson County accident

A 10-year-old boy suffered minor injuries at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Anthony M. Eighmy, 24, of Warrensburg, was driving a 1998 GMC east on Route OO when he traveled partly off the right side of the roadway, attempted to steer back onto the roadway and lost control. He crossed the center and off the left side of the roadway, striking a cable box and struck a tree.

Both occupants were wearing seat belts. The 10-year-old was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
