Warsaw woman hurt in Benton crash

A Warsaw woman suffered moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 7:15 a.m. Friday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Chante M. Burch, 38, of Warsaw, was driving west on state Route BB when she failed to stop at a stop sign and traveled into the path of a northbound vehicle on U.S. 65 driven by Terry W. Meyer, 63, of Warsaw. Burch’s vehicle struck Meyer’s vehicle.

Burch, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Warsaw-Lincoln Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Leeton man hurt in accident

A Leeton man suffered moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 3 a.m. Saturday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Samuel T. Nussbaum, 25, was driving north on Southeast 301st Road north of Lee Street when his vehicle struck a deer. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and became airborne, coming to rest in a creek.

Nussbaum, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Raytown man killed in Henry County

A Raytown man died after a medical episode at 6:10 p.m. Saturday in Henry County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Max D. Overbey, 57, was driving a motorcycle north on County Road Northwest 1301 south of County Road Northwest 900 when he had a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to stop on the roadway.

Overbey, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead by Dr. John Brown at 6:49 p.m.

Two hurt in Johnson accident

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 9:29 a.m. Monday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Logan A. Brown, 30, of Bridgewater, Iowa, was driving a John Deere south on state Route 13 at Southeast 860th Road when he attempted to pass another southbound vehicle driven by Colton E. Shackelford, 23, of Chilhowee. Shackelford made a left turn and struck Brown’s semi-truck. Shackelford’s vehicle traveled off the road, struck a ditch, overturned, and struck a utility pole. Brown’s vehicle traveled off the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.

Shackelford suffered minor injuries and Brown suffered moderate injuries. Both were wearing a safety device and both were taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
