This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 2

4:21 p.m.: Darren A. Pullen, 41, of La Monte, was arrested after officers responded to Compass Health Network, 1700 W. Main St., for a report of drug activity. A witness saw Pullen drop a bag of illegal drugs and when confronted he ran from the location to a nearby tree line. Officers located him and he was brought to the Pettis County Jail and held pending State charges of resisting arrest, drug possession and endangering the welfare of a child.

Oct. 3

12:01 a.m.: Michael Dale Rohr, 48, of Smithton, was arrested after officers responded to the 400 block of East Seventh Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Rohr was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges of first-degree burglary, tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution, and fourth-degree domestic assault.

7:38 p.m.: Marcus Mantrell McKnight, 35, of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched in reference to a disturbance where a man was walking around with a large knife knocking on residence doors. They made contact with McKnight and a large machete was recovered outside the building consistent with victim statements. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges of harassment first-degree.

Incidents

Sept. 29

12:02 a.m.: Officers responded to West Main Street and Metallic Avenue for a vehicle versus pedestrian accident. One man found to be in possession of a firearm and a currently convicted felon. The firearm was seized and charges are being requested through the Pettis County prosecutor's office.

Oct. 3

11:48 a.m.: An officer met a victim in the lobby of the police department in reference to a hit-and-run accident in the 3400 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The victim stated his vehicle was struck while parked on a private lot sometime over the weekend. The vehicle had minor damage to the rear passenger quarter panel.

Arrests

Oct. 3

1:21 a.m.: Amanda Howk, of Barnett, was arrested after deputies conducted a traffic stop at West Broadway Boulevard and South Carr Avenue on a vehicle with a defective license plate light. A consent search was granted and found methamphetamine and prescription pills. Howk was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

7:18 p.m.: Edward Balinger, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested after deputies were dispatched to the 23000 block of Anderson School Road in reference to abuse of a child with unlawful restraints. After investigation deputies placed Balinger under arrest and transported him to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of second-degree kidnapping, third-degree domestic assault, and abuse of a child.
