This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 18

3 p.m.: Austin Taylor Schoonover, 28, of the 1200 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested after an officer attempted to stop a vehicle with no registration near 16th Street and Grand Avenue. The vehicle attempted to evade the officer before stopping at 14th Street and Sneed Avenue where the driver fled on foot. The driver ran about half a block before being arrested by the officer without incident. Schoonover was taken to the Pettis County Jail for processing and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of operating a motor vehicle with no valid license, resisting arrest, and careless driving. 

April 19

5:30 a.m.: Jared W. Sanders, 39, of the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to an assault. The victim stated he was assaulted by a patron twice before calling 911. Officers located Sanders, who was arrested for third-degree assault and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated by Pettis County Ambulance District. 

April 21

7:36 p.m.: Terrell Antwon Robinson, 27, of the 400 block of Albright Court, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle failing to use its turn signal near North Ohio Avenue and East Cooper Street. A check to dispatch showed the driver's license status was suspended. He was arrested and transported to the SPD and released with a city summons for driving with a suspended license. 

10:12 p.m.: Kenneth Aleczander Sponder, 21, of the 700 block of East 17th Street, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with no front or rear license plates near East Broadway Boulevard and South Engineer Avenue. A check showed the driver's license status was suspended out of Florida. He was arrested, transported to the SPD and released with a city summons for driving while suspended. 

April 22

2:20 a.m.: David L. Jefferson, 28, of Jefferson City, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with no front plate. A check showed the driver's license was suspended. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of felony driving while suspended. 

Incidents

April 21

7:27 a.m.: A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of East Third Street. The victim reported several items were stolen with an approximate value of $680. At the time of the report, there was no suspect information. 

5:26 p.m.: An officer took a report in the SPD lobby regarding a missing juvenile from the 1900 block of South Ingram Avenue. The complainant stated the juvenile did not return home after school.

10:01 p.m.: A report was taken in the SPD lobby from a victim who said she was at Housel Park when her unlocked vehicle was entered and her wallet was stolen. The wallet was recovered but money and credit cards were missing. The victim wanted to pursue charges.
