Two from KCMO seriously injured in Morgan crash

Megan L. Rector, 28, and Thomas J. Eckstein, 61, both of Kansas City, Missouri, were seriously injured at 3 p.m. Sunday in a Morgan County crash. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Rector was driving north in a 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer on state Route 135 north of Big Buffalo Road when she traveled off the right-hand side of the road going around a corner and overcorrected. Her vehicle skidded, slid, and traveled off the left side of the roadway, striking a fence and overturning before coming to rest on the roof. 

Both occupants were transported by MU Air Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.

Pleasant Hill woman injured in Johnson accident

Janene E. Scarlett, 58, of Pleasant Hill, was moderately injured at 4:45 p.m. Sunday in Johnson County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Scarlett was driving west in a 1996 Jeep Cherokee when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway. Scarlett overcorrected and the vehicle overturned. 

She was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. Scarlett was wearing a seat belt. 

Four injured in Moniteau drunk driving crash

Emily B. Garrison, 31, was seriously injured as was a male baby and Zachery R. Garrison, 32, all of Russellville, was moderately injured Monday at 8:05 p.m. in Moniteau County. 

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Erik S. Blackwell, 27, of Russellville, was driving west on state Route A near Barry Road when he crossed the center line and struck a 1999 Honda Accord driven by Emily Garrison. 

Blackwell, who was wearing a seat belt, received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital. Emily Garrison, who was not wearing a seat belt, was flown to University Hospital by MU Air Care. Zachary Garrison and the baby were transported by private vehicle to St. Mary's Hospital.

Blackwell was arrested for driving while intoxicated-serious physical injury, careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, and failure to register a motor vehicle with the Department of Revenue. He was released for medical treatment.
