Dec. 21

11:21 a.m.: Joseph A. Markes, 35, of the 1200 block of South Limit Avenue, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Limit Avenue for impeding flow of traffic. An officer responded to a subject check. While in the area, the officer observed a person in the roadway collecting money from passing cars.

3:33 p.m.: Alexis B. Metscher, 20, of Smithton, was issued a municipal court summons in the 2500 block of West 16th Street for possession of marijuana. A traffic stop was conducted for speeding. The officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver confirmed a small amount of marijuana was in the vehicle.

Dec. 22

4:11 p.m.: Amanda R. Mejia, 37, of the 4000 block of Cardinal Circle, was arrested in the 300 block of West Third Street for stealing and forgery. A complainant reported a short-term renter had altered their original invoice and submitted it to her insurance company, resulting in the suspect being paid $1,171.39 more than they were supposed to receive.

10:55 p.m.: Jason Edward Young, 26, of the 1600 block of East 16th Street, was arrested near the intersection of South New York Avenue and East 16th Street for driving while intoxicated. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was too intoxicated to be operating a vehicle.

Dec. 23

1:31 a.m.: Farris Lee Higginbotham Jr., 24, of the 1500 block of West 20th Street, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of Wilkerson Street and South Moniteau Avenue for possession of marijuana and operator’s license required. Officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle that failed to use a turn signal and failed to stop at a red light. The officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver also did not have a valid driver’s license. Officers searched the vehicle and the driver and found marijuana.

Incidents

Dec. 22

9:07 p.m.: An officer responded to the 400 block of North Quincy Avenue for a property damage report. The caller stated that while he was away, someone known to him damaged the front door frame. A charge of second-degree property damage is being submitted to the prosecutor.
