This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 9

8:33 p.m.: Nathan E. Seifner, 21, of the 800 block of North New York Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop near East Broadway Boulevard and Arlington Avenue for excessive speed. Seifner was intoxicated and possessed a large amount of marijuana. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked for driving while intoxicated and felony possession of marijuana.

Feb. 10

1:08 a.m.: Gavin T. Elliott, 20, of the 400 block of West 36th Street, was arrested after a vehicle stop near West 32nd Street and South Kentucky Avenue for moving violations and indicators of impaired driving. Elliott was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving while intoxicated - drugs.

Feb. 13

6:18 a.m.: Trayvon M. Gravitt, 27, of the 2800 block of Meadow Wood Drive, was arrested after an officer responded to the 1400 block of South Kentucky Avenue for a motor vehicle accident involving a parked car. A computer check confirmed Gravitt’s driver's license was revoked and he was unable to provide proof of insurance. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked and released for driving with a revoked driver's license and failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Incidents

Feb. 9

2:06 p.m.: Officers responded to a vehicle hit-and-run crash on West Broadway Boulevard near State Fair Boulevard. A 2010 Ford Fusion was rear-ended by a maroon color pickup. The crash is under investigation.

Feb. 13

9:46 a.m.: Officers took a report of failure to return rental property to a business in the 200 block of South Ohio Avenue. The victim stated his business rented out the property to an individual who has not made payments or returned it.

12:10 p.m.: Officers responded to the 400 block of East Third Street in reference to a previous burglary. The reporting party stated someone entered his residence and stole items. A suspect has not been identified.

3:35 p.m.: Officers took a report from a victim in the 400 block of East Howard Street, who said she had multiple items stolen from her residence. The suspect has not yet been determined.

6:46 p.m.: Sedalia police investigated a burglary in the 1900 block of South Missouri Avenue. Entry was forced into the residence and someone went through items. However, at the time of the report, nothing was found to be missing.

9:42 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1100 block of South Limit Avenue for a trespassing complaint. A previously trespassed subject had returned to the business. They were identified, told to leave, and left. The complainant wanted to pursue prosecution.
