This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 26

11:36 p.m.: Shaevon Marquill Collins, 35, of the 600 block of East 11th Street, was arrested after being stopped for no plate lights and failing to maintain the right half of the roadway in the 900 block of Westwood Avenue. Collin’s driver's license was revoked out of Missouri and Illinois. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving with a revoked license.

Jan. 27

2:08 a.m.: Isaac Garcia Islas, 26, of the 2800 block of South Beacon Avenue, was arrested after a vehicle stop at West 16th Street and South Limit Avenue for moving violations. He was intoxicated and was transported to the police department, processed, and released with municipal citations for driving while intoxicated and driving without a driver's license.

4:53 a.m.: Howard Phillip Andrus III, 43, of Gallatin, was arrested after an intoxicated driver was contacted at East Broadway Boulevard and South Harding Avenue, unconscious at the wheel. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail for driving while intoxicated - drugs, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jan. 31

3:56 a.m.: Justin D. Casdorph, 35, of the 600 block of East 15th Street, was arrested after Sedalia police stopped a vehicle for a moving traffic violation near West 16th Street and South Osage Avenue. Casdorph had a suspended driver's license and was released at the scene with a citation.

1:51 p.m.: Sergio Alfonso Marcos Lazaro, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested after police responded to West 16th Street and Harrison Avenue for a report of vandalism. Lazaro was arrested based on witness statements that he spray-painted buildings. The vandalism was located and owners wished to pursue charges. Lazaro was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of first-degree property damage and second-degree property damage.

7:49 p.m.: Kevin A. Murray, 41, of the 2200 block of West Fifth Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched in reference to a domestic assault. Two people had been assaulted and needed medical assistance. The Pettis County Ambulance District was contacted and the subjects were taken to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Murray was still on the scene and officers tried to speak with him to deescalate the situation. He was ultimately arrested and had to be secured into a wrap restraint device due to combative behavior. He assaulted an officer and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit for confinement due to alcohol and drug intoxication. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of first-degree burglary, first-degree domestic assault, second-degree domestic assault, violation of an ex parte order, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and fourth-degree assault.

Incidents

Jan. 31

12:41 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to West Main Street and North Missouri Avenue for a theft report. The complainant stated someone stole a cable that was holding down concrete blocks valued at $225. There are no suspects.
