This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
1:25 a.m.: Mark DeWayne Meyers, 58, of the 2500 block of South Ohio Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for drifting back and forth near South Ohio Avenue and West 24th Street. Myers was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, placed on a 24-hour protective custody hold, and charged with driving while intoxicated.
2:53 a.m.: Sarah Loomis, 24, of the 2400 block of Plaza Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to an accident on Clarendon Road south of West 16th Street. It was determined Loomis was intoxicated and she was transported to the Sedalia Police Department and given a ticket for driving while intoxicated.
12:10 p.m.: Cameron R. Fehr, 20, of the 200 block of South Quincy Avenue, was arrested after an officer was dispatched for a report of a domestic assault. The victim stated she was assaulted by a man known to her and had several bruises from the incident. Contact was later made with Fehr and he was placed under arrest for a failure to appear domestic assault warrant out of Warren County. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail for second-degree domestic assault and resisting arrest.
4:41 p.m.: Jeremy E. Pointer, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East 17th Street in reference to a trespassing call. The caller said he was trying to enter her home and was making violent threats to her and her husband. Officers made contact with Pointer while en route to the call. The reporting party wished to press charges for harassment and after a brief struggle, the suspect was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of first-degree harassment and resisting arrest.
9:37 p.m.: Franklin Eli Crowder, 38, of the 1400 block of West 11th Street, was arrested after officers were dispatched for a report of a domestic disturbance. An investigation led to Crowder’s arrest for fourth-degree domestic violence. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
12:01 a.m.: Beningno R. Antonio Rayon, 32, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was arrested after being observed traveling west on West Broadway Boulevard and failing to maintain a lane. A traffic stop at West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Road found Rayon to be intoxicated and he was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, issued a uniform traffic ticket for driving while intoxicated, and released to a sober driver.
3:21 a.m.: Svitlana Avramenko, 46, of the 2000 block of East 16th Street, was arrested after being observed driving on Broadway Boulevard at a high rate of speed, drifting in and out of a lane. A traffic stop found Avramenko to be intoxicated and she was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw. A request for a charge of driving while intoxicated has been submitted to the prosecutor.
8:08 p.m.: Edgar Lemus Rodriguez, 29, of La Monte, was arrested after a traffic stop in the area of West 32nd Street and Erika Avenue. The driver was found to have a revoked driver's license and was transported to the police department, fingerprinted and released with a summons.
1:00 a.m.: McCord Deken, 19, of the 3100 block of Brianna Boulevard, was arrested after being observed driving east on West 16th Street and failing to maintain a lane. A traffic stop at South Limit Avenue determined the driver was intoxicated and Deken was transported to the police department, then the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving while intoxicated - alcohol.
11:26 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center emergency room for the report of a dog running at large. Officers took the dog into custody and brought it to the animal shelter.
4:13 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of West Third Street in reference to a property damage report. The reporting party stated his vehicle was egged for the fourth time since October 2022.
9:10 a.m.: An officer discovered damage to a wooden gate at the entrance of the Katy Trail at East Boonville Street and Watson Street. It is unknown how the damage occurred.
4:32 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of South Kentucky Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance. The victim stated his ex-girlfriend slapped him in the face before leaving their house. A charge of third-degree domestic assault is being sought.
6:40 p.m.: Officers received a call from the 300 block of West Pettis Street referencing a theft of money. A report was completed.
Midnight: Deputies took a report of harassment in the 2400 block of Woodland Drive in Sedalia. A charged of second-degree harassment is pending.
508 p.m.: Deputies took a report of a burglary in the 21000 block of Route B in Pettis County. The investigation continues.
10:06 a.m.: Gabriel Escude, 35, of Versailles, was arrested in Saline County for unlawful possession of an explosive device. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
9:59 p.m.: David B. Brogstadt, 35, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to University Hospital in Columbia and released.
1:10 a.m.: Blake E. Heitman, 19, of Odessa, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated, a lane violation, and no insurance. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
1:23 a.m.: Roy L. Graves, 39, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for resisting arrest, driving while intoxicated, no headlights, failure to affix plate, and no valid driver's license. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.
12:10 p.m.: Jamie L. DeBacker, 29, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
