This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

July 7

4:35 a.m.: Lori Lynn Hadley, 51, of the 1600 block of South Engineer Avenue, was arrested after officers responded for a 911 call for medical assistance. There was no medical emergency, and Hadley had reportedly called 911 more than 20 times in the last month when there had been no emergency. She was arrested, transported to the Pettis County Jail, and placed on a 24-hour hold for misuse of the 911 system.

July 10

1:26 p.m.: John Edward Hutton, 49, of Kansas City, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the Heckart Community Center, 1800 W. Third St., for a report of a subject inside that was on the sex registry list. The officer made contact with Hutton and confirmed he was prohibited from loitering within 500 feet of parks or pools. Hutton was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold for prohibited persons inside a public park.

Incidents

July 11

1:16 a.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Ohio Avenue and Broadway Boulevard due to multiple infractions. An elderly man described as clearly in a stage of life they should not be driving was given a ride to a hotel. A report was made for documentation for a subsequent driver's condition report.

1102 a.m.: A victim came into the police department lobby to report her work laptop had been stolen from her vehicle at Liberty Pool. A report was completed.

6:12 p.m.: A theft report was taken in the 300 block of South Engineer Avenue. The victim stated they were doing laundry, and when they got back to switch it to the dryer, it was gone. The value they attached to the laundry was $125.

7:00 p.m.: Officers received a tip of a suicidal subject in the 1400 block of Kentucky Avenue. After an investigation, officers located the subject and she was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by the Pettis County Ambulance District for treatment.

Arrests

July 12

12:44 a.m.: James D. Larrabee, 35, of Louisburg, was arrested after a deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of U.S. Highway 50 and Buckley Road on a vehicle that was speeding and driving erratically. Larrabee was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a blood draw and during an inventory of the vehicle, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located. Larrabee was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while intoxicated.

Arrests

July 11

3:53 p.m.: Todd C. Streb, 49, of Sedalia, was arrested in Moniteau County for two misdemeanor Pettis County failure to appear warrants, for no insurance and stealing, and no valid license plates. He was transported to the Moniteau County Jail.

5:15 p.m.: Ronald G. Clawson, 77, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
