This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 10

2:12 a.m.: Adonis Mason, 26, of the 1000 block of East 16th Street was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding at West Main Street near North Plymouth Avenue. It was determined the driver was intoxicated and was transported to the police department for a breath sample. Mason was issued a uniform traffic ticket for speeding and driving while intoxicated then was given a ride home.

June 13

11:54 p.m.: David Rodriguez, 43, of the 500 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested after a traffic stop at East Broadway Boulevard and Harding Avenue on a vehicle that was failing to maintain a lane. It was discovered Rodriguez had a revoked driving status and was intoxicated. He was not able to provide proof of insurance and was transported to the police department where he refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained and a blood draw was conducted at Bothwell Regional Health Center. Rodriguez was then transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. Charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked, and no proof of insurance have been submitted to the prosecutor. 

Incidents

May 31

8 a.m.: A business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard contacted the SPD regarding a theft that occurred May 30. The total amount of the theft was $22.42. There is a suspect in the theft and charges are being requested. 

June 9

8:52 a.m.: Officers responded to the 200 block of East 13th Street for a report of property damage. Contact was made with a male subject who reported that his window was broken out by a man following a disturbance. The suspect left the area before officers arrived and was not located.

5:46 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue in reference to a hit-and-run accident. All parties were identified and the incident was investigated. A general information report was completed.

10:12 p.m.: The SPD took a theft report in the 600 block of East 10th Street. The victim reported that someone known to her stole a television. 

June 13

10:39 a.m.: An officer responded to a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue for a hit-and-run accident. Property management explained someone pulled into a parking space and struck the front support beam of the business. They left without making contact with anyone. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified. 

10:44 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of North Marshall Avenue in reference to a property damage report. Over the weekend a garage door was damaged with what appeared to be a handheld tool. It is unknown if entry into the building was made and there was no report of missing property. 

6:05 p.m.: An officer took a theft report in the SPD lobby. The victim reported that someone stole her prescription pills. There are no suspects at this time.

6:12 p.m.: An officer spoke with a complainant in the police department lobby about a theft that occurred over the phone in the 1300 block of South Engineer Avenue. The victim was scammed out of money and did not receive the property he paid for in an agreement. The suspect is unknown at this time.

Incidents

June 13

8 a.m.: Deputies took a report in the 10000 block of Highway 52 in Windsor in reference to a theft of items from the property. 

10 a.m.: Pettis County deputies responded to the 4000 block of South Limit Avenue in Pettis County concerning some drug paraphernalia that was found. The deputies took custody of the paraphernalia and it was entered into evidence. 

Noon: A caller in the 3100 block of South Washington Avenue reported that sometime between June 10 and June 13 someone stole a 42-inch zero-turn Gravely mower from his backyard.

Arrests

June 10

10:58 p.m.: Michael E. Hayden, 33, of Clinton, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, and speeding. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail. 

June 11

2:48 a.m.: Jacques Tuyubahe, 23, of Wichita, Kansas, was arrested in Saline County for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended driver's license. He was transported to the Saline County Jail and released. 

1:08 p.m.: Steven W. Halter, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County for felony possession of a controlled substance, a felony warrant from Montgomery County, and a misdemeanor warrant from St. Charles Department of Corrections. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail. 

June 12

7:50 p.m.: Bailey Matthews, 21, of Noblesville, Indiana, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia. Matthews was transported to the Saline County Jail and released. 

5:12 p.m.: Kasey L. Ellis, 33, of Gravois Mills, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated, no driver’s license, no insurance, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a motor vehicle crash. Ellis was transported to the Morgan County Jail.
