This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 24

10:46 a.m.: Earl Michael Moon, 46, of the 500 block of South Engineer Avenue, was arrested after police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at 10th Street and Barrett Avenue. The operator was found to have a revoked driver's license and was placed under arrest without incident. Moon was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released.

8:37 p.m.: Dominique J. Taylor, 32, of the 2700 block of Martha Lane, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard for a physical domestic disturbance. A primary physical aggressor was determined and Taylor was taken to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault. 

9:21 p.m.: Judith Leigh Denney, 55, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a female sleeping on the side of the building. They recognized Denney and after confirming that she was trespassed from the business, she was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was placed on a 24-hour hold for trespassing. 

9:30 p.m.: Nadalene B. Meseky, 25, of the 2300 block of North Woodlawn Drive, was arrested after an investigative traffic stop on a Ford Edge as the registered owner showed they had a revoked Missouri driver's license. The registered owner was operating the vehicle, and a traffic stop took place at West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Drive. Meseky was transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was booked and released for driving with a suspended license.

10:12 p.m.: Gary Gene Brown Jr., 52, of the 1000 block of East Fourth Street, was arrested after a traffic stop for improper and expired plates at South Hancock Avenue and East Sixth Street. The officer spoke to the driver and a single passenger and learned the driver had a revoked driver's license. Brown was arrested and transported to the police department where he was booked and released.

June 25

8:06 p.m.: Orlando Miguel Rodriguez, 22, of the 600 block of West Fourth Street, was arrested for speeding on East Broadway Boulevard. The driver had a suspended driver's license and was  arrested and released from the scene with a municipal summons. 

June 26

4:59 a.m.: Derek Scott Grimm, 39, of the 1300 block of South Marshall Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration at East 16th Street and South Garfield Avenue. Officers noticed the driver appeared to be impaired and after investigation, he was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated-drugs. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released to a sober person. 

10:22 p.m.: Kyle W. Wissman, 34, of the 2300 block of East 10th Street, was arrested after officers observed a Ford F-150 with a non-functioning headlight headed east on Broadway Boulevard. Contact was made with two subjects in the vehicle. Wissman told officers he did not have a valid license, believing it to be suspended. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released.

Incidents

June 24

3:25 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard for a report of shoplifting. The complainant stated two African-American females entered the store and grabbed an armful of clothes each and then ran out of the store. They reportedly got into a light blue Hyundai Electra and went west on U.S. Highway 50. Suspects have not been identified, and staff estimated $400 worth of merchandise was taken. 

6:23 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1500 block of South Barrett Avenue for a runaway juvenile report. Contact was made with the caller and information was collected. A report was completed and the juvenile was entered into the system as a runaway/missing.

10:26 p.m.: Officers took a harassment report in the lobby of the police department. The complainant stated a subject made threats to acquire a firearm and return to The Embassy men's shelter to harm people. The subject is under investigation at this time. 

June 25

1:34 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the police department lobby to speak with a subject about items stolen from his wallet. He stated someone stole $60 and three credit cards from his wallet locked in a locker at Heckart Community Center, 1800 W. Third St. The credit cards were reported to have been used to make purchases at the center and online. There are no suspects at this time.

Incidents

June 21

11:01 p.m.: The K9 Unit attempted a traffic stop in the area of Highway B and Sacagawea Road.  The deputy activated lights but the driver fled at a high rate of speed. Deputies pursued the driver for a short amount of time but for the safety of motorists on the roadway, they terminated the pursuit. They located the vehicle and made contact with business employees and management and were able to get video footage of the driver. Deputies were able to identify the driver and will be working with the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office on charges. 

June 26

8:30 p.m.: Deputies advised dispatch they were doing an area search in the 4700 block of South Limit Avenue. While on the search, drug paraphernalia was seized from a cabin on a property and after arresting a male subject he resisted arrest. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of state charges. 

Missouri State Highway Patrol

June 24

9:05 p.m.: Trinity R. Burgess-Brown, 20, of Montrose, was arrested in Benton County for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the road, and minor in possession of alcohol. She was transported to the Benton County Jail and released.

June 26

2:47 p.m.: Berlin Gonzalez, 38, of Mexico, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.
