This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 15

8:24 p.m.: Craig Daniel Spain, 53, of the 1500 block of West Main Street, was arrested after officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Wilkerson Street and South Harrison Avenue. The driver of the suspect vehicle eluded officers but was located again near the intersection of West Pettis Street and North Quincy Avenue. Spain was arrested for driving without a license, failure to register a motor vehicle, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and resisting arrest. Charges were submitted to the prosecutor's office.

March 19

9:01 p.m.: Kwan T. Watkins, 43, of the 1000 block of East 12th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop at West Main Street and South Limit Avenue that crossed into the oncoming lanes of travel. Kwan was intoxicated and had a suspended driving status. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail, booked, and released for driving with a suspended license and driving while intoxicated - prior offender.

March 20

5:26 a.m.: Sergei S. Gladush Jr., 44, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to an intoxicated subject. The subject entered a patron's car to avoid law enforcement and the caller said they had asked the subject to leave multiple times. Gladush was arrested, transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center and released. A request for a charge of first-degree trespassing has been submitted to the prosecutor.

March 21

2 a.m.: Kasey Lee Kabler, 35, of the 3900 block of McVey Road, was arrested after a traffic stop at East 24th Street and South Massachusetts Avenue on a vehicle that was failing to maintain its lane of travel. Kabler was intoxicated and was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked and released for driving while intoxicated - prior offender.

11:11 a.m.: Zachary Taylor Fisher, 28, of the 800 block of East Ninth Street, was arrested after officers performed a traffic stop for failing to signal near South Grand Avenue and West Second Street. The driver was found to be driving with a suspended license and was arrested. A search of the vehicle located fentanyl, methamphetamine, and paraphernalia. Fisher was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of second-degree drug trafficking, delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and driving with a suspended license.

11:18 p.m.: Sergei S. Gladush Jr., 44, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to a business in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to an intoxicated subject. Gladush was highly intoxicated and was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center, then the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold.

6:11 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to take a report of a theft that occurred in the 400 block of East Third Street. The elderly caller reported they'd been scammed out of more than $9,000. A report was taken.

Deputies took two calls regarding a phone scam. A scammer claimed to be with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office and was telling people they had warrants for their arrest and needed to pay money over the phone to stay out of jail. The Pettis County Sheriff's Office said its employees will never call anyone to demand payment for warrants.
