This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

March 29

9:25 p.m.: Antonio T. Gray, 36, the 200 block of West 15th Street, was arrested after officers conducted a traffic stop in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for no front license plate. Gray was arrested for driving with a suspended/revoked license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released.

March 29

6:21 p.m.: Officers took a report of domestic violence in the SPD lobby. The victim said the suspect had choked her with his hands then sexually assaulted her sometime between midnight and 6 p.m. in a home in the 1000 block of South Osage Avenue. Officers collected evidence. The victim wished to pursue charges. The suspect was not on the scene.

Arrests

March 27

12:23 a.m.: Nelson Carrillo Vega, of Nashville, Tennessee, was arrested after deputies conducted a vehicle stop in the 1800 block of South Limit Avenue for failure to maintain a lane. During the stop, Carrillo Vega was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid license. Deputies arrested him and transported him to the Pettis County Jail. 

10:46 p.m.: John Paschetti, of Pittsburg, Kansas, was arrested for operating a vehicle on the highway without a valid license (second offense) after deputies observed a Ford F-150 traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 65 near West 16th Street. The driver failed to stop at a red light and made a westbound turn to West 16th Street.

March 29

12:10 a.m.: Deputies responded to the 4200 block of West Main Street in reference to an assault in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male subject, Juanito Rubio, had assaulted a female known to him during the altercation. Rubio was placed into custody, transported to the Pettis County Jail and was placed on a 24-hour hold pending state charges of second-degree domestic assault.

11:45 p.m.: Dale Lee Turley, of Sedalia, was arrested after the Missouri State Highway Patrol in conjunction with Pettis County deputies observed a suspicious male while attending another call for service in the 1400 block of Elm Hills Boulevard. As deputies attempted to make contact, Turley fled on foot and after a short foot pursuit was arrested for an outstanding Pettis County warrant, possession of a controlled substance/methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony resisting arrest. Turley was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending State charges from the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office. Incidents

March 26

12:05 p.m.: A warrant application was made for Shaun C. Paxton, of the 300 block of South Lamine Avenue for failure to register as a sex offender. Paxton, a Tier 3 offender, is required to register every 90 days and has not done so. Information was forwarded to the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office for further action.

March 28

9:29 a.m.: John Snethen, of Green Ridge, reported to deputies that someone had entered his home in the 30000 block of Hill Street in Green Ridge and stolen a rifle. The investigation is ongoing.

9:09 p.m.: Jose A. Ruiz, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested in Saline County for felony possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
