This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 11

2:00 a.m.: James Henry Kreisel, 26, of the 1000 block of State Fair Boulevard, was arrested after a vehicle stop in the area of West 10th Street and South State Fair Boulevard for a brake light out. Kreisel was intoxicated and was taken to hospital and then the Pettis County Jail where he was booked pending release to a sober person.

9:53 a.m.: Jodie L.Thomas, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer stopped her vehicle in the 1300 block of West Fourth Street after observing her trying to avoid him. A computer check of the driver's information showed her Missouri driving privileges were revoked. She was issued a Sedalia municipal summons and released at the scene. 

11:18 a.m.: Amanda J. Brewer, 34, of the 1400 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Oak Grove Lane. Brewer was in one of the vehicles involved and was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Pettis County Jail. 

12:14 p.m.: Gabriel A. LaClair, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested after officers responded to the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard for shoplifting. When officers handcuffed and handed over the suspect to the jail, LaClair became violent and uncontrollable. He struck police personnel while at the jail and police personnel tried to control him. He was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges of shoplifting and fourth-degree assault. 

Incidents

May 11

9:10 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of East Fifth Street for an assistant agency report. The victim stated an unknown subject injected him with methamphetamine while he was in Denver, Colorado. 

9:42 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 2900 block of Clinton Road in reference to a theft report. The shop owner reported that overnight someone cut the catalytic converters off his vehicles.

9:49 a.m.: An officer was made aware that an individual spread a sexually transmitted disease to another subject in the 900 block of Westwood Avenue in January 2020. At the time of the report, the reporting party did not have a culpable mental state and it is unknown if the victim is willing to cooperate. Charges are not being requested. 

3:19 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East 17th Street for a report of a theft of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that while she was working, she suspects her granddaughter stole her Ford Explorer. The vehicle was listed as stolen. 

3:25 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of West Second Street for a property damage report. An unknown subject damaged the back window of a vehicle on the lot.
