This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 14

9:04 a.m.: David Lynn Sutton, 23, of the 9300 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested after a speeding stop in the area of Broadway Boulevard and Beacon Street. A search revealed the suspect having marijuana and paraphernalia. He was booked and released filing state charges of marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

9:43 p.m.: David S. Huff, 64, of the 24000 block of Oak Grove Lane, was arrested after officers were dispatched to a business in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a traffic complaint. The subject was arrested for driving while intoxicated-persistent offender and was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges. 

10:25 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to Liberty Park regarding an assault that had just taken place. Two suspects had attacked two others with a baseball bat, seemingly without provocation. The victims and three witnesses were able to provide a description of the suspects.

10:47 p.m.: Brian Keith Mumby, 41, of the 1500 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop for an expired tag in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Park Avenue. An investigation discovered that the driver had a suspended Missouri driver's license. Mumby was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released. 

May 15

4:34 a.m.: Justin A. Stone, 40, of the 1400 block of West 10th Street, was arrested after a traffic stop on a motor vehicle near West Ninth Street and South Prospect Avenue because the license plate was returned as stolen. A check showed Stone had an active Douglas County warrant and an active Pettis County warrant. His driver's license was also revoked. The suspect denied any knowledge that the plate was stolen. An inventory of the vehicle found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail booked on two warrants, driving with a revoked license, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine, and was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges. 

1:50 p.m.: Martavious K. Thomas, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested after an officer responded to the 600 block of East 10th Street for a burglary in progress. Thomas was located inside the house and was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold. Charges of second-degree burglary have been requested. Thomas was also booked for a Pettis County warrant with a bond of $5,000.

9:36 p.m.: Alyssa Marie Molina, 33, of the 900 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with no tail lights near South Grand Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard. The driver's license status was suspended. She was arrested, transported to the police department, fingerprinted, and released with a city citation for driving while suspended. 

10:17 p.m.: Katie M. McMullen, 37, of the 1900 block of South Grand Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the area of West 20th Street and South Grand Avenue. McMullen was found to have a suspended driving status and was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department. She was later released with a citation.

10:35 p.m.: Stephanie M. Hernandez, 40, of the 400 block of Buckner Court, was arrested after officers responded to a domestic disturbance. Both parties sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Following an investigation, the primary aggressor was arrested for second-degree domestic assault and transported to the Pettis County Jail where she was placed on a 24-hour hold. 

May 16

1:15 a.m.: Damien Erickson, 46, of St. Joseph, was arrested after officers initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle for failing to maintain its lane near East Broadway Boulevard and East 12th Street. A check showed the driver's license status was revoked. Erickson was also suspected of driving while intoxicated. A search of the vehicle found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana. The driver was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked on possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated offender-driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license, and possession of marijuana. He was placed on a 24-hour hold pending charges. A passenger, Mona R. Cowick, 55, of St. Joseph, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

2:02 a.m.: Kevin Scott Williams, 44, of the 28000 block of TT Highway, was arrested after a vehicle stop in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and Highway M for moving violations. A check revealed Williams was driving with a revoked driver's license. He was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold.

7:33 p.m.: William C. Mulcrone, 52, of the 5000 block of South Limit Avenue, was arrested after a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of East Saline Street and North New York Avenue. Following the investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for driving with revoked driver's license. He was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. 

9:36 p.m.: Brandon Lee Motley, 28, of the 1100 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested after an officer was dispatched for a report of a domestic disturbance. The victim stated they were spit on by Motley. He was arrested for fourth-degree domestic assault. A search incident to arrest revealed the unlawful possession of a weapon. The suspect was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges. 

10:12 p.m.: James L. Long Jr., 53, of Sedalia, was arrested after driving an ATV on Union Pacific property. An officer attempted to stop the ATV, but it fled. The Sedalia Police Department drone unit deployed its drone to assist in the search of the ATV. The subject was located hiding in a tree line near East Howard Street and North Harding Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident. Charges of first-degree trespassing, resisting arrest, and operating an ATV on a roadway have been filed.

11:23 p.m.: Dylan Brooks Clark, 22, of the 200 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested after a victim came into the SPD lobby to report a domestic assault not in progress. She stated she was in the area of West 10th Street and South Kentucky Avenue when the suspect punched her. The victim stated that earlier in the day the suspect had bit her on the arm, which clearly had a bite mark on it. The suspect was later located, arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges.

May 17

1:27 a.m.: Timothy Ryan Barrett, 33, of the 1300 block of East 14th Street, was arrested after officers made contact with a driver who had parked in a no-parking zone. A check through dispatch showed the driver had an active Benton County warrant. A search found methamphetamine. Barrett was transported to the Pettis County Jail and booked on the warrant and possession of methamphetamine with a 24-hour hold pending charges.

2:10 a.m.: Carmen Talavera-Sebastian, 39, of the 2600 block of Bristol Road, was arrested after a traffic stop near the intersection of South Engineer Avenue and East 16th Street for careless driving. Following an investigation, a passenger was arrested for three counts of child endangerment for allowing her underage child to drive the vehicle because she was intoxicated. Arrangements were made for the 13-year-old driver as well as the 8- and 1-year-old passengers in the vehicle to be transported home. The charges are being referred to the Pettis County prosecutor.

Incidents

May 3

5:53 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to West Sixth Street and South Missouri Avenue in reference to a hit-and-run accident. A witness described a red Dodge Charger driving erratically and sideswiping a parked car. A suspect has not been located at this time. 

May 14

8:42 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Wilkinson Avenue regarding a missing person who is residing in the 700 block of West Third Street. The reporting party stated that the person might have left for Kansas City. The person has been entered as missing.

2:21 p.m.: A victim came to the Sedalia Police Department and reported someone had attempted to use their personal information to try and claim unemployment benefits from the state of Missouri. No suspect information is available at this time. 

8:18 p.m.: Officers responded to the area of East Third Street and South Montgomery Avenue for a report of a disturbance. A female reported being assaulted by an unknown subject she had picked up on the side of the road. The allegation was proven false by investigating officers with the help of a witness. No charges are being requested at this time.

May 16

3:02 a.m.: Officers took a report of a theft that occurred in the 100 block of Winchester Drive. The victim stated that between the hours of 9 to 11 p.m. someone entered his unlocked car and took his cellphone, pack of cigarettes, and clip-on sunglasses.

May 13

Midnight: Deputies took a report from the 37000 block of Highway ZZ for a stolen catalytic converter.

May 14

7:30 a.m.: A deputy was dispatched to a business in the 4700 block of South Limit Avenue on a report of trespassing. The deputy was advised the suspect was told several times to leave but he didn't. The deputy took the subject into custody for trespassing.

May 15

1:19 a.m.: Andrea M. Martin, 38, of La Monte, was arrested in Pettis County for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail and released.

1:42 a.m.: Jamisha N. Scaife, 30, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County for driving while intoxicated-prior offender. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.

7:10 a.m.: Wesley R. Wilson, 62, of Versailles, was arrested in Morgan County for felony driving while intoxicated and felony driving with a revoked license. He was transported to the Morgan County Jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

7:05 p.m.: Marjorie J. Hooks, 73, of Clinton, was arrested in Henry County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in an accident. She was transported to the Henry County Sheriff's Department and released.

May 16

10:56 p.m.: Tyler K. Dake, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested in Johnson County for felony driving while intoxicated-aggravated offender, driving with a revoked/suspended driver's license, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was taken to the Warrensburg Police Department and released.
