This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 26

12:46 a.m.: Joshua Adam Kisner, 30, of Kansas City, was arrested after officers contacted a traffic stop for expired registration near the intersection of East 14th Street and South Ingram Avenue. Kisner was found to be operating the vehicle without an operator's license and was transported to the police department and issued a summons.

Incidents

May 25

2:58 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to a hit-and-run accident that occurred in a parking lot in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue. Unknown suspects struck a parked vehicle and left the area. Video footage is available.

3:10 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 2400 block of West Second Street Terrace in reference to illegal dumping. Two subjects drove up in several separate vehicles to the caller’s address and unloaded two truck seats and then left them on the caller‘s curb next to his trash bin. The incident was recorded on a doorbell camera.

May 26

9:30 a.m.: An officer was dispatched to the Smith-Cotton Junior High School in reference to a child pornography distribution report. Several photos of a juvenile were taken and disseminated by students.

6:43 p.m.: An officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of 11th Street in reference to property damage. The caller said her house had been shot with paintballs which broke and stained the siding. The estimated damage is $7,000. No arrests have been made at this time.

7:31 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of South Ohio Avenue for a reported property damage incident. The suspect is unknown at this time.

11:23 p.m.: Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Madison Avenue in reference to property damage. The complainant stated that a vehicle drove by firing paintball rounds at the residence. At this time, no contact has been made with the vehicle.

May 29

10:33 p.m.: Management from a business in the 3800 block of South Limit Avenue reported an employee had fraudulently been scanning her Friends of the Family loyalty card and using the 3% cashback rewards to purchase items within the store. The employee was transported to the police station, interviewed and released. A misdemeanor charge of stealing has been submitted to the prosecutor.

May 25

12:30 p.m.: Deputies took a report of a dog bite that occurred in the 100 block of East Benton Street in Green Ridge. The dog and owner were located and the owner was issued a citation.

May 26

5:35 p.m.: Ronald E. Moore, 63, of Shawnee, Kansas, was arrested in Morgan County for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway. He was released for medical reasons.
