This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 3

6:45 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 2000 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a subject check. The caller stated that a woman known to her was having a mental health crisis, was off her medications, and was refusing to leave the restaurant with her. It was determined she was of sound mind and was not suffering from a mental health crisis. Instead, the woman made abuse allegations against the caller and said she had abused her children. A report was completed to document the allegations and a report was made to the Child Abuse Hotline. 

May 4

1:17 p.m.: Bryan L. Evans, 58, of the 1000 block of Sue Lane, was arrested after an officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of South Osage Avenue for a report of trespassing. The reporting party stated a former tenant was evicted April 15 and was not supposed to be back on the property. The tenant came back on two separate occasions and was still sitting on the porch when officers arrived. 

Incidents

May 4

2:19 pm: An officer responded to the 1000 block of South Arlington Avenue for a theft report. The resident reported that prescription pills were stolen from her home. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located. 

3 p.m.: A victim reported to the Sedalia Police Department that an unknown person stole prescription medication and cash from her purse while at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard. 

3:32 p.m.: A victim reported to the Sedalia Police Department that an unknown person damaged a bicycle in the 2600 block of East Broadway Boulevard.

7:46 p.m.: A complainant made a report with the Sedalia Police Department regarding alleged child abuse in the 700 block of East 10th Street.

Incidents

May 4

3:05 p.m.: Deputies took a report from the 1600 block of McVey Road in reference to a possible burglary no longer progress. The investigation continues.
